There aren’t many designers who are as consistent and consistently-coveted as Stella McCartney. She knows what works best for the women who love to wear her designs because she herself is that woman, wearing her pieces everywhere from red carpet events to out and about in London. For Spring, McCartney injected her athletic-inspired pieces with sheer insets (slowly becoming a signature) and pops of eye-catching color including tangerine, kelly green, and cobalt. Those boxy silhouettes she loves so much were still at play, on a bomber jacket on Joan Smalls, sheer sweatshirts, collared blouses with hidden button plackets, and so much more.
Though white is a shade that can be worn year-round, nothing feels better than wearing it as the first hints of warm weather roll around. McCartney mixed the fresh shade with lavender in a slew of looks including sensual vest/skirt combinations boasting plunging v-necklines and thigh-high slits, a power suit fully equipped with linebacker shoulders, and a sheer ensemble on Cora Emmanuel that was simultaneously demure and sexy.
On the flipside, there was certainly a lot of all-black: easy additions to any woman’s wardrobe. Peplum will be in again for Spring, uplifting simple bustier tops which can be perfectly paired with everything from skinnies to roomy cropped trousers.
The collection’s brights and pops of color certainly stole the show.
Last, but not least were the accessories. It was all about lucite from wrist to foot.

Stella McCartney’s always a little too basic and plain for my liking….some nice picees here though, and I do like that seethrough clutchbag

Most of these pieces are boring and shapeless. But I do like the accessories, particularly, the see through clutch.
Blessings

I don’t like this at all

Didn’t give me life…some of the pieces were very boxy and the slacks just looked all wrong. Perhaps because the models are rail thin? No matter, all I could work with was the shoes.

Uh, every piece is amazing! With the exception of the peplum! Death to mustard yellow and death to the peplum! But no seriously, I love the silhouettes and color story. Prints are slowly becoming a thing of the past. From the few collections I’ve seen so far spring seems to be all about black, straight silhouettes, and texture -love itt!
