Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Kenzo served up an ample dose of brightness for next spring, taking inspiration from the name of Kenzo’s first store, Jungle Jap, and infusing their collection with botanical prints, tie dye splotches, and tropical colors.
Safari ready jumpsuits and off shoulder cotton frocks in utilitarian army green shared the stage with exotic printed halter neck bustiers and matching pants. Knee high boots and multi strap sandals were the accessories of choice, along with python printed handbags and wide belts.
Under Lim and Leon’s direction, Kenzo has become a voice of the exuberant youth, one that exists outside of neutral trends, and boldly embraces vibrant hues and delectable prints.
I’m a huge fan of Kenzo, and already found a few pieces that will be on my lust list come Spring 2013: gonna need to have the tiger sweater, along with any of the printed belted vests, tie dye dresses, or patterned pants.
I could see Rihanna in a bustier and skirt combo, Zoe Kravitz in a double split dress, or Rita Ora in a printed jumpsuit.
What do you think?
