For spring, Alberta Ferretti‘s stuck to her tried and true aesthetic of producing airy, delicate, feminine looks; this time inspired by the ultimate life force, water.
The designer channeled ethereal glamour, sending sheer, frothy gowns with layered silks and chiffon down the runway. She added a generous helping of sparkle, with beaded and paillette-embellished, net-like panels draped over dresses like sparkly chain mail.
Barely there lace panels were another prominent feature of this collection, as was the evening wear favorite, lace overlay. The blue-and-green color palette is an obvious nod to the collection’s inspiration, with a few shades of beige and murky blacks thrown in for contrast.
This is obviously a gorgeous offering, although I would say these pieces would look better on a woman with a more delicate frame. I think a curvier woman’s body (albeit beautiful) might overpower the dainty looks, and make them more va-va-voom than intended. Someone like Kerry Washington or Zoe Saldana would do the collection justice.
What do you think?
