Amber writes, “It’s that time of year again and a lot of kids are going back to school. I was wondering if you could do a swagged out look to turn heads on the first day of class.”
September marks a time when everyone is trying to put a fresh foot forward and make a splash for fall. It’s still pretty hot out, so I devised four *affordable* looks that will work for now and then for a little later, whether it’s for school, work, or play. Besides, it’s fun to ogle $800 shoes, but who can afford ‘em?

For those in high school or college, cozy up to an athletic theme in a $40 Delia’s Varsity Jacket and very on trend oxblood jeans. Throw onlookers for a loop with a pair of Rebecca Taylor leopard wedge sneakers, and finish your look off with a gray messenger bag:
Look 2 is certainly zany, but I think it could work for a casual back to school moment!

Play on this season’s print on print trend by marrying a striped shirt with leopard pants. Because leopard incorporates both black and brown, you can mix up your accessories with an $89 Big Buddha Hannah Messenger Bag and $51 black ASOS studded slippers. Tone it all down with a $76 Topshop denim jacket and gold accessories.
For those a bit older, I’d say go for a skirt and blazer combo. When I think of back to school, I think of pleated skirts, like this $64 Waffle Pleated Skirt from Topshop.

Make it pop with a $87 Black and White Dogtooth blazer by River Island, and a $27 Yellow Bag from Modcloth. Complete with either $98 Sidewalk Skimmers from Madewell or $89 Vince Camuto Kain Pumps.
What do you think of these Fall picks?
