Check out this beauty post from Erin of Scandalous Beauty Online!
As I look back at the Fall 2012 shows, I can’t help but have a “been there, seen that,” type of feeling. I mean really, you almost always know what the hot looks will be before the shows start. This isn’t a bad thing. I love anticipating the re-launch of darker hues and barely there beauty.

Below, find a short list of what we’ve seen on the runways. Aside from the cat eye, orange and red eye shadow, and the nude lip, here are a few more high-notes from the Fall 2012 collections. Remember, you can wear, not-wear, or modify any of these looks and create your own signature style. It’s beauty, have fun!

1. Smudged Liner
Time and time again, designers used not-so-precise liner. This should be a huge relief for all of you without a steady hand! Using a small brush (flat or bulleted), line the eye with eye shadow or cream liner in black, navy, eggplant and forest green. Keep the smudging as close to the eye as possible. This looks great on the top and lower lash lines!
Try: Make Up For Ever Black Tango Palette
2. Clean skin
This is truly the season of the no makeup, makeup look. If you opt for foundation, keep it clean but mosturizing the skin really well, then dotting foundation on the face as needed. Even better, just use concealer on blemishes and dark spots. Dust the skin with just enough powder to set the face. If you’re going to wear brush, try colors that are close to skin tone and enhance your color slightly.
Try: Black Opal True Color Stick Foundation SPF 8 (Works well as a foundation and concealer!)
3. Minimally Metallic Eyes
Eye shadow wasn’t applied all over the eye this go round. We found several designers who opted for metallic-y shadow right in the inner corner of the eye. Most of the colors weren’t too striking–we saw plenty of beiges, tans, golds and other slight neutrals. Take a soft, fluffy shadow brush and dot and blend shadow at the inner most portion of they eye. Blend slightly.
Try: Urban Decay Naked Palette

4. The Red (and Red-ish) Lip
It’s back! The age old classic that really doesn’t have a season. This look can be extended to rusty oranges and deep plums. We aren’t seeing much gloss right now, but more of the matte or satin lip. We’re also seeing an absence of lip liner, or liner that matches exactly. No more dark burgundy liner and red lips! Don’t forget to put on your lip conditioner first. Dry lips + matte lipstick= a scaly, chipped mess.
Try: MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo (A cult favorite!)

5. Nails, nails, nails (with art!)
As you’ve seen for the past couple of years now, nails are the new eye shadow. Every designer had something different and unique. Nail jewelry, ombre, duo and tri-color, metallic, matte, you name it. Some were nude, some were vampy. Most were short, a few were long. Almost all were very creative.
What trends are you looking forward to wearing this Fall?

Love the make-up tips, but the hair in the first and second pic is a complete and utter “NO”. I’m just gonna act like the obvious tracks and glue ain’t there.

Love the tips… hate the pics! The “metallic” look for example… just looks like wack white shadow… can’t really explain an eyeshadow look w/the models eyes open… o_O
Looking forward to more beauty posts!!
