Style Inspiration: What to Wear to a Block Party
By The Fashion Bomb Staff

Shanequa writes, “I need an outfit for an up and coming block party in my old neighborhood nobody really seen me since I had my daughter and I want to look extra cute!!!! Please help I don’t think my style fell off just because I had a baby!!!!”

Hey, girl! Congrats on being a new mom!

This first look is all about being cute.

Isn’t this Alice+ Olivia maxi dress just everything? The ombre hue gives a burst of fun and glamour all at once. Managing your style while balancing mommy duties can be a bit of a hassle, so try slipping on a dress for an instant fashion fix. I also chose these sandals, because they perfectly complement the colors of the maxi. Don’t be afraid to add a long necklace similar to this beauty I found over at Topshop.

Considering that it’s still warm out, you might want to take advantage of being able to show off your legs (while you still can).

I chose a pair of Joe’s Jeans snake print cut off shorts, all in a bout to avoid the ever predictable blue denim. I then paired it with a neon blouse. This is cool and will certainly allow you to catch the breeze. Complete the look with a crossbody bag, black flats, and silver accessories.

Next up, I went for a pair of Sandro Paprika printed crepe tapered pants. While this particular pair is a bit pricey, I included a couple more affordable options.

Pair the vibrant print with a basic top; like this black tank. I also threw in round frame sunglasses to add to the cool and easy going vibe. Also, be sure to wear a pair of gold flats to help bring out the colors in the pants. Offset the dark ensemble with an Essie Mojito Madness mani.

Finally, you can go for a bit of edge with look 3.

A maxi skirt is always an easy and chic route to take. I’m particularly loving this one that is available at Loehmann’s for $16.99. You can then wear it with a basic white tank top and a neon motorcycle vest. If you’re in the mood for heels, give these Kelsi Dagger wedges a spin.  Then, complete the look with a tote, and aviator sunglasses.

I hope this helps, Shanequa!
