I want to look very chic, but I don’t want to break the bank at the same time. I am curvy and a little bit on the thick side, so I want to accentuate those curves. Can you help me find a look please?”
Hey there, Shanette! So you’re curvy and a little bit on the thick side, and want to accentuate your curves? Got it.
Considering the fact that you’ll be attending a high profile charity event, we will try to highlight your curves, but also be mindful of the event you’re attending.
A nipped in waist does wonders for a wonders figure. I chose this Jason Wu dress for that very reason, and because of its length. Being that you err on the thick side, the longer hem prevents the look from being on the verge of scandal. To make the outfit pop, go for a bright shoe. I am particularly loving this green pair of pumps. Finish up with a bright lip, and you’re good to go!
Let’s face it, peplums are huge this season. They’re so fab, I’m not sure I want to ever see them go out of style.
A peplum dress is flattering on just about everyone. This Alice + Olivia red number is perfect in color and length. Keep the accessories gold, and the shoes black with gold detailing. Complete the look with a black clutch, and enjoy your night.
For look 3 I went with a Tart purple one shoulder dress. The nipped in wait coupled with the ruching will work great on your curvy frame.
I then wanted to liven the ensemble up with vibrant accessories. This Santi clutch is just that. Also, use this opportunity to go for statement earrings; something similar to this Rodrigo Otazu pair should work fine. Slip your feet into golden sandals, apply lipstick, and your look is complete.
There you go, Shanette! If you were inspired by this post, please check back in with us and send us pictures of your final result.
