• American Apparel will not be producing uniforms for Russia’s 2014 Olympic team. In fact, WWD reports that the Russian Olympic and Paralympic Organizing committee were never in talks with the brand to produce anything in the first place. American Apparel CEO Dov Charney admitted he had fabricated the entire thing. The deal was, in fact, for Team Russia merchandise, and not for the actual uniforms: “I’m not as well educated on these Olympic matters as I should be,” said he, ”I’m in the schmatta business.” (WWD)
• CONFIRMED: The Spice Girls will reunite for a performance at the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremonies! The Fab 5 will sing “Wannabe,” and another one of their hits, which has yet to be disclosed. As a die-hard Spice Girls fan (I traveled 10 hours from college in Ohio back to New York City to see their reunion tour!) I’m so excited, and definitely setting my DVR for this! What about you?
