Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Oroma from Nigeria

    by Claire

    You ready for our Bombshell?
Today’s lucky lass is Oromo from Nigeria:

She says, “My style? Well there’s nothing much to say but I dress how I feel.”

    “Quite difficult to explain.”

“… Artists express themselves with their artwork but I express myself with clothes.”

“The music I listen to strongly influences my taste.”

“I’m studying Genetics, but I hope to be a stylist one day (though I don’t know how that would sit with my parents!)”

“Check out my blog at www.nevinovatie.tumblr.com.”

Will do! Your style is funky and artistic. I like!
    Do you?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day is a feature showcasing the singular style of Fashion Bomb Readers. Send your name, location, a description of your style, and 6-8 picture(s) to thefashionbomb@gmail.com. Images submitted may be featured on Facebook or Twitter. I agree @ Lola. Most of the “bombshells” have that faux hipster look going on and there’s really nothing unique about it.

Coco is so right. Nothing new. I want to see a bombshell, who makes your mouth drop, and gives you new ideas. I use to check out this web almost every day, but not anymore. I am 20year-old and i wish you would put more ”normal” yet cool bombshell on.

All era’s have their signature style, is it possible the “hipster” look will help define the 2010′s? If so, if this is becoming an conventional look, I’m sure the “real” hipster’s will find a new one, lol. And what defines a real histpter vs a faux one anyway..I think to walk around like this, still takes a little courage when every day you see the average person wearing gap t-shirts and jeans. Nothing wrong with playing around with any look, if its grunge, hipster, 80′s, preppy, tailored, etc… At the end of the day, we all have the right to define ourselves and express ourselves – no one owns a particular look.

Im with Amani, wth does “faux hipster” mean anyway? Can’t people just like the hipster look? I feel like this comment comes from people who have a more classic aesthetic and are unwilling to acknowledge any style other than their own.

Nobody calls them out for being “faux preppy”

Also, I love the bombshells look! I think she does a good job balancing prints and silhouettes which is what trips up a lot of people looking for that “hipster vibe”.
