Peter Dundas has transformed Emilio Pucci and taken the fashion house from all things swirl print to a veritable fashion empire, dressing “It” girls and celebrities the world over in gowns boasting cut-out detailing, sheer panels, leg-baring silhouettes, and so much more. The brand’s latest endeavor involves worldwide retail expansion: eleven shops in total in the next few years, starting with New York City and Milan. Retail of course means functionality and that is the main aim of the Resort 2013 collection modeled by Jourdan Dunn, full of wardrobe essentials including trench coats, cargo shirtdresses, cocktail-perfect sheaths, and office-ready separates.
The whole collection has a military-inspired vibe with jackets and suits in olive green galore, of course given a dose of femininity in true Pucci fashion. Dragon motifs are also prevalent, lending an Asian flair to the designs.
Naturally, no Resort collection is bereft of flowing caftans and swimsuits and Pucci gives us more than enough for the season in the brand’s signature prints, featuring embroidery and lace insets.
Worldwide “It” girls will be pleased with the selection of sexy dresses, which no collection of the brand would be complete without. My favorite is one of the most simple: a LBD with barely-visible spaghetti straps, a thigh-high slit, and a studded belt cinching the waist.
Hot! I wasn’t sure that anyone could do the brand justice after print-master Matthew Williamson moved on from the brand, but Peter Dundas has breathed all new life into the fashion house. I know that some of our favorite stylish stars will be spotted in this collection in the coming months: Rihanna in the printed pajama-inspired pieces, Nicole Richie in the lace-sleeved leather dress, and Dundas might just design a custom piece or two for Janet Jackson and Jada Pinkett Smith.
What do you think?

YES YES YESSS military style will come BACK! My favourite style, I ALWAYS have to wear something khaki and green! That last dress is gorgeous, but I’m especially into the colour-palette. (do I write that ‘palette’ right?) I hope Zara will inspire over this.
