Thakoon Panichgul quietly launched his Thakoon Addition line in December of 2008, aiming to give those in love with his brand a more affordable way to wear his designs. The response was quick and powerful, so he began to show the line separately, starting with Resort 2012. For Resort 2013 (modeled by Fashion Bomb favorite Jasmine Tookes), the collection is still full of the youthful vibrancy that is a core element of Addition, with mixed prints, flirty and functional silhouettes, and the ability to mix and match as one pleases–which we all know is key for any woman on-the-go.
When warm weather or a vacation rolls around, there is no reason not to go bold! This collection is full of easy printed separates: striped tees, coquettish leopard minis, bright shorts, animal print sheaths, and so much more. The great thing about these pieces is that you can pair any of them with something plain like black skinnies or a simple button-front blouse for a polished look.
Thakoon presents more than enough jackets and blazers for chilly nights and year-round wear, during transitional weather. Don’t worry ladies: there are also a few pants styles for those who don’t choose to wear bare legs or tights day in and day out.
As a dress-loving woman, the frocks are my favorite pieces in the collection. From flare skirt styles in eye-catching prints to silk sleeveless maxis, there is something for everyone.
A great group of designs no? Diffusion lines aren’t always spot-on with the main brand’s aesthetic, but that is not the case here: Thakoon presents great functional styles season after season and I look forward to Addition, just as much as the Thakoon line. I need at least one of the dresses in my closet for the season!
