Solange Knowles complimented her yellow and white 70’s inspired Marni Spring 2012 frock with a pair of yellow striped perspex heeled Missoni sandals. Her afro and soft make-up make this look a stunner. My only gripe is her arm-candy, it seems a bit too hard edged for an otherwise memorable ensemble.
I love Pharrell Williams, the man is a musical genius and oozes charisma. Unfortunately he missed with this look. An outfit that looks part evening appropriate, and part street wear is leaving me confused. Why the winter hat Pharrell? Where did your socks go?
When you’re a seasoned fashion stylist, it’s hardly likely that you’ll flop on the red carpet. June Ambrose proves time and time again why she is one of the most respected in the game. Seen here in a Fall 2012 Chris Benz silver sequined stunner, topped off with voluminous body waves, Ms. Ambrose is giving me a Donna Summer tease, and I am in LOVE.
Zoe Saldana looked absolutely gorgeous in this plunging neckline, semi-sheer floor length Fall 2012 Prabal Gurung gown. It’s a dress that could have veered into disaster territory if overdone, but her statuesque frame, slicked back do, and minimal accessories allow the dress to take center stage and rightfully absorb the spotlight.
Designer Rachel Roy opted for punchy pink in this floor length gown. The fabric and drape are giving me a bathrobe/housecoat vibe, but I’m loving the color, and her makeup stays flawless.
Tracy Reese was also in attendance. For such a talented designer, she never seems to hit her looks out of the park! Loving the jewelry, however.
Here’s supermodel Joan Smalls in Michael Kors posing alongside the designer himself. This look instantly became my favorite of the night. The clean, crisp white dress boasts a dip hem that is perfectly on trend this season. She completed her outfit with strappy gold sandals, a gold clutch, and a gold cuff. Amazing.
And lastly, model Selita Ebanks also opted for a white gown, a spring favorite. While her brown locks and golden skin are stunning, this Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress leaves me less than impressed. It resembles a club dress poorly fused with an evening gown.
That does it!
