For Shatonia’s daily wardrobe query, she needed the tea on Cassie’s ‘knucklework.’

Our most prolific Mail Bomber wrote, “Love the ring. We’ve seen it millions of times, but hers looks better than the ones I’ve seen. Where can I get it? Not that particular word but who may she have gotten her ring from?”
It looks like Cassie may be rocking a $30 two finger ‘B*tch’ ring from accessories website www.ImBossy.com:

In case you didn’t want a cuss word on your jewelry, the site also has a $30 ‘Bad’ ring:

And a funky two finger number proclaiming ‘Black Girls Rock!’:

Indeed, indeed.
Click around a bit more and find something that suits your personality. See the rest at www.imbossy.com.

*As an aside, Cassie seems committed to wearing everything on my lust list (grrr!). It looks like the songstress is wearing this $695 Helmut Lang Leather Sleeve Jacket:
Get it from www.shopbop.com.

April 12, 2012 12:31 pm
Im all for loving your race and all ( I love being me and the black skin Im in). with all that said….how would ya’ll feel if you saw a white girl wearing a “white girls rock” ring? would you think she racist? just curious… I want to know what message pieces like that are sending.
April 12, 2012 12:38 pm
Great , wow promote woman to be called bitches and lets buy products that put down women. then post an other article about how much mrs.obama is empowering women. Nice well done.
April 12, 2012 12:43 pm
@G. I guess its like using the N word among black people. I do not consider myself a Bitch nor N***a so I will never allow anyone (no matter the race or gender) to call me out of my name, those names do not empower me TYVM.
April 12, 2012 12:53 pm
I agree with y…. I would never promote products clearly Using any words that clearly put women down… I am also a woman of color and hate to see mixed articles one promoting and then other article saying Wow how cool it is to call ourselves bitches…. I don’t think in any race it’s right to be called bitches

@G Shatonia asked for the ring, so I found it for her. I’m beyond the stage of judging what someone wants to wear. I’ve embraced the diversity of the Fashion Bomb readership. Some people want Michelle Obama’s outfits, some want Nicki Minaj’s, or Cassie’s ring. That’s their right.
And if someone calls themself a b*tch, is it degrading? And then we have Trina, who calls herself the ‘baddest b*tch’, which can be taken as a good thing. B*tch means different things to different people, and if anyone from Trina to Cassie to Shatonia wants to call themself a b*tch, again, that’s their right.
April 12, 2012 1:07 pm
I THINK THE RING IS PRETTY WEAK!! LOL
April 12, 2012 1:48 pm
Cassie is representing Cassie, obviously she’s cool with wearing the label of b*tch. I suspect she didn’t give it much thought, probably just saw something bright and shiny.
April 12, 2012 1:58 pm
Depending on your definition of BItch, a bitch could be a self directed bad chick who’s not taking any shorts. Yeah I could be that bitch!
April 12, 2012 2:43 pm
Hmmm…that “Bad” ring looks quite a lot like the one that my girl Melody Ehsani dropped several years back now (which I have and LOVE and is still available on her website here: http://www.melodyehsani.com/shop/view-all/bad-ring/). I sincerely hope that Imbossy is not biting…
April 12, 2012 3:29 pm
she should try “BALD” ring ..
April 12, 2012 3:46 pm
@claire you shouldn’t have to constantly explain why you post what you want on your blog. If they read the bomber correctly they would c that I just wanted to know who the maker was.I didn’t want that particular ring saying “b***h” which is why you gave an alternative other than wearing a cuss word across your knuckles.and if I or anyone else chose to do so then that would be on me or them.people will always be judgmental.I will continue to send my bombers as i am sure you won’t disappoint in locating what I’m interested in.Thanks Claire!
April 12, 2012 4:49 pm

*Adds Cassie to Favorite Fashionistas List*
April 12, 2012 10:32 pm
I love how intelligent Claire is. She give you those “shut your mouth wide closed” responses.
April 13, 2012 12:39 am
think i like the “bad” ring the best. props to claire for her classy response.
@y, if i saw a white girl wearing a ring like that, i doubt i’d care one way or another. white women have been the standard of beauty for almost every culture (both western & colonized) for centuries. it’s not like they need affirmation.
the reason why “black girls rock” has become a motto is b/c the media/culture we live in is always telling us we don’t.
April 13, 2012 1:22 am
Applause for both Claire and Shatonia! TY Shatonia for asking about pieces I’m interested in and TY to Claire for doing what you love and being past the judgmental fashion stage cause it really makes it easier for people like me to ask about pieces without getting a verbal side-eye. Love all that you do :)
April 13, 2012 9:06 am
@SweetT You took the answer right out of my mouth. “white women have been the standard of beauty for almost every culture (both western & colonized) for centuries. it’s not like they need affirmation.
The reason why “black girls rock” has become a motto is b/c the media/culture we live in is always telling us we don’t.” Perfectly stated.
Further I am beyond ppl putting me down. I refer to myself as a bitch because the basics of what ppl generalise one as is what I am. Im a business professional and I leave my feelings and everyone else’s at the door when getting things that need to be done DONE. Im called a bitch. My male colleagues are called good/strong managers and performers when they do the same. If being a bitch makes me good at what I do then fine.
April 13, 2012 5:43 pm
Cassie style really has evolved since she came into the game. Love the jacket.
April 16, 2012 2:14 pm
The bitch debate is the same is the niggA debate…
I don’t like these rings at all.. I would never let my daughter wear these. When some of you wake up, you will see the bigger picture.. By the way, there are some white women that don’t feel all that reguardless of the skin they were born in. I say that to say FIND AND LOVE YOURSELF! These type of fashions and moto make black girls suck!! Everything is so fake now days.
April 16, 2012 2:21 pm
I remember when Cassie first shaved off the side of her hair, people were going in on her..lol Now look, everyone’s doing it.
April 16, 2012 2:21 pm
@Y… I agree with everything you have stated.
April 27, 2012 2:31 am
Interesting^^
