Ananda Marchildon, the Holland’s Next Top Model winner who was dismissed from ELITE models for being too “hippy,” has won her lawsuit against the agency! The Amsterdam District Court ruled that Marchildon is due the remaining $85,500 promised to her upon winning first prize on the reality show. Apparently, Ananda’s hip measurements were 92cm at the time she was signed to the agency, and, as the ruling says; “Elite could therefore not demand she reach a hip size of 90 centimeters.” (HuffPost)

Alexander Wang is being sued for $450 million dollars by 56-year-old Wenyu Lu, who claims he was forced to work 84-hour weeks producing clothes in a midtown sweatshop. Lu is trying to get other laborers to come forward against the designer in a class-action lawsuit. The former worker says he and more than 15 other employees were forced to work 16-hour days in a poorly ventilated, windowless 200 square foot room. Alexander Wang’s people have since denied these allegations in a statement: “The company takes its obligations to comply with the law very seriously, including the relevant wage and hour regulations, the payment of overtime to eligible employees and having a safe working environment for all of our employees. We will vehemently defend any allegations to the contrary.” Lu’s lawyer, Ming Hai, calls these alleged sweatshop conditions “a new form of slavery.” (NY Post, WWD)
