In January, we broke the news that ALDO Rise was collaborating on a limited-edition collection of shoes with four hot up and coming designers including Mark Fast, J.W. Anderson, Preen and Libertine. Now the collection is available in stores, giving us all just what we need for Spring.
Each pair is really on point with the aesthetic of each brand, showing just how masterful the execution is. Mark Fast’s love of bold colors and cutouts, the digital photo prints and mixed patterns that are inherent to Preen, Libertine’s retro-inspired style, J.W. Anderson’s quirky twists on modernity and femininity: these are all on display in the shoes which is pretty astounding considering the price points.
My favorite shoes from the thirteen-piece collection are J.W. Anderson’s Weatherbee Pumps in Navy Stripe and Preen’s Paider Pumps in Orange. The former boasts a whimsical stripe pattern, accented with black leather lace-up detailing, white ankle straps and black feathered backs: a total statement pump for the season which can work everywhere from in the office to a night out. The latter features 4.25″ heels, colorblocking, an open-toe silhouette and ruffle-back ankle straps: a great pair to wear day in and day out for a fun pop of color.
The collection is a bit of a splurge with pieces retailing from $155 – $175, but it’s a great investment when you compare those prices to the actual price tags of these brands’ ready to wear (which can go for over $1000). The quality and construction of the shoes seem to be top-notch and the designs are rather unique. I’m definitely going to indulge in a pair or two for the season. Will you?

These are interesting, however I only see myself wearing the simplest one: red, white and mint(?). Nice presentation though.
