Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles relaunched their House of Dereon line last fall with a big runway show at Selfridge’s in London. Full of party dresses, form-fitting pants, and a slew of LBDs, the collection pretty much mimicked Beyoncé’s style. The Spring 2012 lookbook for the brand has been released, and while freakum dresses still factor in heavily, there are also a variety of other wearable silhouettes at play, showing that House of Deréon just may be a brand to watch this season.
We all know colored skinnies and trousers are a big trend for Spring, and those are available in baby blue and coral in both cropped denim and high-waist pleated trouser styles. The season also calls for florals and punchy prints, which make appearances on fluid blouses, form-fitting tube tops, mini skirts, blazer lapels, and floor-sweeping maxi dresses.
Draped jumpsuits and empire waist one-shoulder dresses will definitely pop for Spring because of their functionality for many sizes, shapes, and styles.
B, Ms. Tina and co touch on all the trends here. Even cut-outs and thigh-high slits are worked in the mix.
All in all, this collection is highly wearable and dare I say it? Cute! The pricing hasn’t been released yet and the brand’s online shop is coming soon, but the collection at Selfridge’s retails for approximately $100 – $175.
Will we see Beyoncé rocking these pieces while out and about in the months to come? I certainly hope so. Celebrities like Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham are constantly seen out and about in their designs which has led to the immense success of their brands. I think Beyoncé has a strong collection here and it would be great to see her mix and match these looks with her high-fashion accessories, don’t you think?
Would you rock House of Dereon Spring 2012?

Nice colors, cute pieces but…… I feel like I’ve seen them before
February 25, 2012 9:09 am
I would wear pieces from their line; however, seldom do I see these fashionable, tasteful pieces in stores (not online). Maybe it’s where I live, but meh to the prior collections.
February 25, 2012 9:44 am
OMG…I’m almost afraid to say this is pretty cute for fear that something bedazzled and full of bows will turn up. Congrats to Beyonce and Mama Tina. They finally made a wearable collection. Even though it screams BCBGeneration, it’s a step in the right direction.
February 25, 2012 9:53 am
Claire, pls google the article in WWD from two years ago when beyonce sold HOD and is now just a paid spokesperson.
February 25, 2012 9:58 am
This view may be fools gold for house of hotdamnmess. It actually looks okay but everything they make is cheap looking in person, Nicole Ritchie and Victoria should wear their own clothes because they have a great aesthetic. Nevertheless the Knowles ladies are fab, if anybody can try to make this work, it’s these two :)
February 25, 2012 10:13 am
Steppin it up a lil bit. But I agree w/ @Lisa…I have seen it all before
February 25, 2012 10:36 am
The collection does look wearable and hopefully these are the pieces we will be seeing in stores. As of now, what I see in retailers are a hot mess.
February 25, 2012 11:09 am
Cute outfits but nothing I’ve never seen before…
February 25, 2012 11:16 am
If Beyonce wears it, then I’ll consider it. But she might pull a Kimora and wear stuff that no one else can find anywhere.
February 25, 2012 11:22 am
This is House of Dereon, it’s upscale. What’s in department stores and mostly worn is Dereon… Not the same.
February 25, 2012 11:36 am
There are some cute pieces (like the 1st look) but nothing spectacular enough to make me crave HOD in particular and be willing to cough up $100+ for.
February 25, 2012 11:41 am
Love the new look. Glad it doesn’t have her logos everywhere.
February 25, 2012 11:57 am
wow, I will mos-def be keeping an eye out for the online boutique I already see pieces I want
February 25, 2012 11:59 am
am in love
February 25, 2012 12:15 pm
Amazing finally they make right thing
February 25, 2012 12:28 pm
So look 3 and 4 is more like Lauren Conrad’s LC for Kohls- the Salmon pants. Yep. And 4 and 5 awfully look like Rachel Roy’s clothes….I would never wear something because a celeb wore it, but If you are gonna attach your name to something- make sure it is unique.
February 25, 2012 1:17 pm
This collection is definitely a step in the right direction, but I’ve seen most of it before. It isn’t my style for the most part, but I do like the blue one shoulder dress and the light pink blazer.
February 25, 2012 1:43 pm
I LOVE it not because i stan for beyonceback but a lot of these pieces I would wear. Especially that first Orange dress….and house of dereon is more upscale than dereon. I don’t even think they sale dereon anymore lol
February 25, 2012 1:59 pm
yh i feel like they are a repetition of outfits i’ve seen before. Its all about Fashion Forward.
February 25, 2012 2:04 pm
Honestly, this collection is not giving me any life. I have seen This look a gazillion times. I agree with @amused about the whole Lauren conrad for kohl’s look, Im getting that vibe as well. Beyonc
February 25, 2012 2:21 pm
Not impressed with this collection at all! Its a step up, but I’m still not into it!
February 25, 2012 2:30 pm
I think it’s cute.
I wish this was the Dereon line instead of House of Dereon. I just feel like if you’re going to make clothes that aren’t THAT unique, you should at least put them at a price point that’s going to make your line competive. Why spend $100 on a floral HOD mini when I can get one at F21 for 20 bucks?
February 25, 2012 2:58 pm
Um, no. I’ll Pass.
February 25, 2012 4:59 pm
I love everything, the jumpsuit’s are cute
February 25, 2012 5:26 pm
Im sorry but this collection looks so 2010!
February 25, 2012 6:09 pm
I can tell most of you know nothing about fashion. Most brand have similar looks and style seeing as they are all in the same price range. I can name about 10 brands that has this same style format. It’s cute, but not for me.
February 25, 2012 6:19 pm
No…a lot of these pieces you can buy already
February 25, 2012 6:35 pm
It’s a step in the right direction
February 25, 2012 7:45 pm
This screams JC Penny .
February 25, 2012 8:52 pm
They finally made something wearable! congrats dereon
February 25, 2012 9:35 pm
Some of the ideas are nice, but poor execution. Looks cheap.
February 25, 2012 10:29 pm
They have some of the pieces and their prices on the lipsy uk site
February 25, 2012 11:48 pm
I am not at all wowed by this collection or the previous ones. Beyonce is not fashionable to me. Most of the designs are probably the brain child of Ms. Tina. I would have liked to seen more edgier designs. I would actually love for Solange to design the clothing . Just my pet peeve, but I would have wished they would have thrown in a couple of curvy models since Beyonce is curvy.
February 26, 2012 3:05 am
Hmmm. Just the fact that it’s HOD. I will NOT be wearing any of these. I’m sure they look cheap in person
February 26, 2012 11:14 am
I want everything.
February 26, 2012 4:53 pm
I atually like most of the collection. Way to go Bey!!!!
February 26, 2012 4:53 pm
i mean actually *
February 26, 2012 6:03 pm
All the shoes used on the models are by Jessica Simpson…weird.
Cheap and unoriginal collection as expected…
February 26, 2012 7:13 pm
This looks confused…like a cow looking at a new fence.
February 26, 2012 10:54 pm
meh
February 27, 2012 4:24 am
YES! I cant wait til the rest of the pieces go public!
February 27, 2012 6:19 am
Im really sorry to say but this collection is really dissappointing. I just see Beyonce’s is so fierce, playful at times and really on point. This is not at all. I’ve seen the collection in Selfridges in London and the quality is not great. I would much rather go to H&M or Zara for the same styles but cheaper and to an extent better quality. I’m rooting for them but they do need to step it up. xx
February 27, 2012 6:51 am
Chileeeee I wish I would support House of Deadwrong clothes! I can go to H&M for all of this mess!
February 27, 2012 8:53 am
I think the pieces are pretty I like the color Palette and silhouettes. And I wear JCP I have on a lovely cream sheer blouse from them now…I shop everywhere
February 27, 2012 12:20 pm
I kind of like the peach/multi blazer
February 27, 2012 5:59 pm
NO.
February 27, 2012 9:12 pm
the dark skin model is so gorgeous. everything looks good on her. i could never understand why people hate on darker skin tones. she makes her clothes look better!
cute outfits
February 29, 2012 7:41 pm
Not really impressed
February 29, 2012 9:47 pm
Nothing new here to see. Let’s keep it moving…Dont wait your money.
February 29, 2012 9:48 pm
Dang it, that was supposed to be ‘dont waste your money..!
March 4, 2012 4:07 pm
I agree with someone else’s comment, I rarely see pieces like these in the store from Dereon.
I would rock it! It’s better than the past stuff they put out!
March 7, 2012 2:53 pm
Hi!!! That these dresses are brand and where I can buy? PLEASEEEE!! I love the first coral dress, that of the girl leopard shoes!!!! Seriously, I want it!!!!!! :(
March 18, 2012 8:01 pm
So many fabulous collections.
April 12, 2012 1:31 pm
Love the colors. Nice and bright!
