It’s been ten years since Zac Posen showed his first collection at New York Fashion Week, and my, has he grown. He has become renowned the world over for his designs and has dressed some of the world’s most stylish and wealthy in the process. He’s shown consistent commitment to high-octane glamour, and continued his luxurious predilections with his Fall 2012 collection, full of dresses and separates molded to a woman’s figure and make-a-statement gowns.
Posen took his inspiration from Japan, as witnessed by the opening look: Coco Rocha in a red and black peony jacquard peplum blouse and pencil skirt. The print continued on structured jackets and form-fitting dresses for bold looks, giving Fall an injection of florals.
Larger-than-life obi belts accented navy blouse and trouser combinations, and cinched the waists of long statement-making coats.
No collection would be complete without Zac Posen’s signature gowns. He presented a variety of options from duchesse satin bustier dresses in gold, caramel, and navy to mermaid gowns in pale pink and cherry red.
This collection absolutely wowed me– I must say bravo to Zac Posen. I hope a slew of Hollywood’s finest leading ladies choose some of the gowns on the red carpet for the 2012 Academy Awards. I can totally see Viola Davis in the caramel bustier gown: it would look magical against her complexion.
What do you think of Zac Posen’s Fall foray?
