Though a staple at New York Fashion Week, Diane von Furstenberg is a global brand, dressing women the world over. Her Fall 2012 collection “Rendezvous” was a nod to the women of one of the other fashion capitals of the world: Paris. Their effortless seduction and everyday glamour served as inspiration for the sensual looks which highlighted the female form as DVF does so well.

Like every Fall collection, outerwear was a strong focus and DVF presented cozy bouclé overcoats, perfect for dressing up any look with a touch of menswear-inspired tailoring. What made these pieces stand out were their bold hues: delicious plum raisin, electric lime and eye-catching blue. These pieces were paired with draped jumpsuits and sophisticated separates, adding to the romance and elegance of the collection.
Those shocking shades did not stop and were shown in more colorblocked looks, pairing draped blouses with pencil skirts and high-waist cropped trousers and even a strapless turquoise asymmetrical dress on Joan Smalls accessorized with a pink clutch for a look that would be sure to turn heads on the red carpet.
DVF’s wrap dress is iconic, but so are her prints. For Fall, she and Creative Director Yvan Mispelaere really had fun with them. The patterns had a surreal vibe for the season including oversized quotation marks, interlocking hands, puzzle pieces, chain links, and so much more.
This is one of the most thrilling collections for Fall New York Fashion Week this season and a bold one at that. Diane von Furstenberg constantly gives her loyal customers something to covet, but also reels in some new fans by presenting looks that are fun and stand out, without ever having to try too hard. A purchase from DVF is one that can last a lifetime and I have a feeling that fashionable ladies the world over will be running to buy these looks.

Oh my. You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this post. DVF definitely helps me add some color and style to what would otherwise be stuffy corporate attire. Overall this collection didn’t wow me, but it’s DVF. She can do no wrong in my eyes.

This is the business, it actually reminds me of an older season of Prabal Gurung but I’m not complaining

I can get with it! It’s timeless, classic, chic that’s actually fun. I want–but with DVF that’s a given.

I am a big fan of DVF but am not feeling this new collection. Maybe on different models with curvier shapes. So many fashions look better off the runway to me.

All I had known about Diane was that she did wrap dresses. Now i know she’s all that and then some.
By the way, Joan Smalls is stunning! Slicked back hair and minimal makeup and she’s out the door.
