Joan Smalls turned out last night to support Runway to Win, Anna Wintour‘s fundraising event to benefit President Obama‘s 2012 reelection campaign. For the evening, the model chose pieces from Prabal Gurung‘s Spring 2012 collection. She paired a white, sheer sleeve ruffle trim button up blouse with a pair of silk floral swirl trousers, and lavender suede lace-up pumps. She completed the look off with an oversized black clutch.
Unfortunately, these pieces are not yet available, but if you’re swooning over that gorgeous floral print, Barneys has a few items from the collection available for pre-order right now.
I love that she’s rocking all Prabal Spring 2012 everything, but didn’t go for a head-to-toe runway look. Not everyone can pull off those pants (I’m talking about my short legged, ample bottomed self), and Joan, in her statuesque glory, makes it work.
What do you think?

I don’t like how she’s wearing it. It’s blah, snooze

February 8, 2012 4:31 pm
I can’t stop staring at that face she is giving long enough to care about the pants! Man she is something else!
I think she kind of pulls the pants off. I’d never try it though

Extremely bold look. IDK how well a lot of people can pull it off.

The material used for the pants would have made a gorgeous dress. The shoes are super ugly and makes the entire outfit look even worse.

WOWWW. So shocked at the hate for these trousers. Everything Prabal Gurung is amazin. Have you seen Candice Swanepoel in the ads? Claire – you should post those – they are beautiful ecstasy.
