Thandie Newton went all the way glam at the 2012 Laureus World Sports Awards in London in a one-shoulder gown from Osman’s Resort 2012 collection, gold tassel earrings from Solange Azagury-Partridge and her favorite pair of Charlotte Olympia Carmen Wedges.
She first wore the shoes in May 2010 at the Louis Vuitton Bond Street Maison Launch in London, paired with a dress from the brand’s Spring 2009 collection. They are definitely for the shoe-obsessed fashionista who knows a great investment when she sees one.
Though worth a pretty penny, Charlotte Olympia shoes can be worn again and again and Thandie clearly demonstrates that. Her most recent look is fab, but the wedges are lost under her long gown. They got their time to shine when she rocked Louis Vuitton two years ago and they were a great pairing with her bold dress.
What do you think? When did she wear them better?
The Carmen Wedges have long since sold out, but get some great suede wedges here.

I hate both looks. Am I the only one that don’t like wedges with semi-formal or formal dresses? I’ve seen alot of people rock them this way so maybe I’m missing something. Wedges are a casual shoe IMO.

Neither, the wedges are great but I don’t like them with either look. Metallic gold stilletos would have been more suiting for the gown and the orange crinkled construction paper look isn’t doing it for me at all.

Seems I’m in the minority here but I think she looks great in both outfits/shoes. She does look a little tired in the peachy dress but maybe she had a hard day!
She was recently interviewed by uber make up artist Kay Montano about her decision to stop relaxing her hair so she has gone up (even more) in my estimation.

She is doing a horrible job of styling that shoe. I have a Michael Kors quite similar that has a zipper in the back but I would never wear on the Red Carpet HMMM very much reminds me of Rachel Zoe but I am sure Rachel didn’t do that?? Did she?

yea this is a very cts shoe but I dont like them with a long dress like that, I think its cute with a shory fun dress or jeans, even shorts
