So I was extremely honored and humbled to be named a Rising Icon by Grey Goose Vodka, along with designer Kianga ‘Kiki’ Peterson and Niki Schwan, style director of Vibe Magazine. To celebrate, the brand is throwing a party to kick off fashion week on Wednesday, February 8th:
Space is very limited, but they did allow me to invite two special readers to come join me and a room full of fashionable industry insiders. If you want to come, leave a comment and let me know why you’d want to roll through (aside from the Grey Goose Open Bar). I’ll choose two lucky readers at random to come join me to toast to the beginning of Fashion Week!

OMG Claire!! I was sooo love to attend with you! You know I am a avid reader of the FBD. Would love to meet local fashionistas and network. What a great event to do that!! Also of course who doesn’t want to roll with you?!!?? :)) Plus, I am an aspiring stylist and would love to speak with Niki Schwan on how she got started, some words of encouragement/wisdom for me. Hi Claire! I love FashionBombDaily and I would love to attend this event with you. I am trying to break into the fashion industry and this would be a great opportunity to meet some of the right people and network and learn. If given the opportunity, I would make the best of it most definitely!!!

Hey Claire :) Congrats on the being named a “Rising Icon”! As an avid reader of FBD and many other blogs I really appreciate seeing an African American woman bringing urban fashion to the mainstream media as well as placing urban culture in a positive light. It would be an honor if I could attend this event with you. My friend and I are tryibg start our own company that promotes natural beauty. We want to help woman realize that they are beautiful no matter their shape or size, and that they don’t need surgeries to prove that(especially black women). So my friend Steph (whom is an awesome MUA) and I started our on Accessory line. We have unique, colorful, showstopping pieces that draws attention to anyone rocking them. Coming to your event would be the perfect opportunity to get our name and brand out there.

Congrats Claire, I was featured on your site for NYE style last year. Although I’m in Atlanta, I def think that this event could use stylish male readers as your guest. I think you do a great job at just giving your readers opportunities that most wouldn’t get, but I’d def like to see more male style features and a stylish guy to write in and win I know alot of guys who read this site…hope they step up and show out like I know we can, look forward to the pics!

Aside from the Grey Goose of course, I would like to go because it would be a great opportunity to meet up and coming rising stars in the fashion world as well as people who have already made their mark. Also because i aspire to work in the fashion industry once i graduate from college so i also look at this as a chance to see what its like on the inside as well as a chance to have a ball with someone i aspire to be like.. Claire….i need to come to this event!! I am a big fashion bomb daily fan. I follow on twitter and facebook and can not go on without fashionbombdaily in my daily life. I have been in love with fashion since I was 9. I have worked in the industry and am looking to getting back into working in the industry. I feel like this event would bring my motivation and creativity to an all time high. Hi Claire, I would love the opportunity to attend and celebrate with you this honor of being named a Rising Icon (even though I think the better title for you would be Trailblazing Icon), but regardless it is an honor well deserved. Where I’m from we struggle to have a fashion community because everyone hates on each other and no one shares information that would help all of us to be successful. I also requested tomorrow off from work, so this must be my fate.

I want to go because I am so proud of you and this blog. I’ve been reading since day one and was a fashion bombshell waaaay back in the day. I applaud you for taking risks and consistently putting forth accurate inspiring and classy material that an urban chocolaty girl like myself can relate to.
