• First she features it-girls Solange Knowles, Julia Sarr-Jamois, and Oroma Elewa in her demi couture runway show, and now, she’s teaming up with Macy’s. Alberta Ferretti is the latest designer to lend her talents to the famed department store’s Impulse collection. The 30-piece capsule is the picture of femininity, with sketches revealing a lace-trimmed blouse and eyelet lace pants (!), and a frothy floor-sweeping draped chiffon gown. The collection will be available in 185 Macy’s stores starting April 17, with prices ranging from $49-$119. So who’s buying? (WWD)
• Harper’s Bazaar has overhauled the design of its whole magazine, rolling out a cleaner, more modern look for its March issue. Covering the newly revamped issue is Gwyenth Paltrow in a revealing Anthony Vaccarello dress, looking down, possibly making sure none of her ladybits are falling out. The magazine will be an inch longer (still not quite so long as W), have thicker pages, and a more organized layout. The cover you see here is the one that will be sent to subscribers. The channel that once aired *classic* hip-hop music videos like “Tip Drill,” has banned ”Stupid Hoe” for being too explicit. Music videos featuring strippers: ok. I’m going to have to check out that Harpers. Gwen’s body is ba-donk-ulous! As a fashion mag lover, its nice to see them stepping up their game in terms of the look and feel of the pub.

Not loving Keri’s cover…wasn’t someone just on the cover of Essence with a very similar white dress and background? I like the new cover of Bazaar, they were never on my list of fav magazines so I may check this out to see if they’ve improved enough for me to subscribe. I’m glad BET banned the video, it’s not the images that are the major problem, it’s the words. It doesn’t matter how long it’s taken BET to get it right, but they’re finally listening and getting the bigger picture.

Kerry is such a beautiful girl. Once again, I don’t think Essence did her justice and that dress, makes her look like she has a baby bump! Satin dresses can be so tricky when shot, does not flatter most people only if you pencil thin. They could have done better in my opinion.

BET also banned Ciara’s Ride It video. I think the network as a problem with female artist being explicit and/or hyper sexual, while promoting this same behavior in male artist. Censorship standards (whether they are high or low) should be the same for everyone.

Make this an important part of any puppie’s day for its lifetime. This is a dangerous practice and should not be encouraged. A lot of dog owners might be asking how long I can train my dogs. When you are both comfortable with the basics, you might want to teach your new friend some tricks. It’s all about putting your dog in a position to
do the right thing and then observing them in the act of doing
the RIGHT thing and praising them wildly.
