Though it seem most celebs have been keeping it nice and cozy this past weekend, a few did step out for Vh1 Divas Celebrate Soul event at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC…
Let’s see what they wore, shall we?
Lala Vazquez Anthony covered the carpet in an asymmetrical look from Laquan Smith’s LQS Eclipse Collection. She’s working the snuff out of the houndstooth top, and the hi lo skirt is the bomb. As always, hair and makeup are on point. Looking good Lala…
Mary J Blige pulled out her winter fur and proceeded to sparkle in a one shoulder Michael Kors Fall 2011 winter white gown with crystal embroidery. I’m loving how her light color palette complements her blond banged bob. She worked it for the occasion. Hot!
Jennifer Hudson also sizzled, opting for a champagne mini gown and bedazzled thigh high boots by Francesco Scognamiglio. The figure is looking great, Jenny, but this outfit, hmm….not really feeling the appliqués on the dress or those space age gold glittery stompers. Snaps, however, for stepping outside the sartorial box.
Estelle dazzled in a gold sequined Diane von Furstenberg gown, punctuated by forest green peep toes and an assortment of cocktail rings. Estelle, darling, the decolletage is stunning, but haven’t we seen you in something similar before? Hmm, perhaps it’s time to switch it up…
True diva Chaka Khan came to the event hand in hand with 50 Cent. From what I can see, both looked fly, with Chaka in a red fur and a classic black dress, and 50 in a holiday appropriate velvet blazer. Hot!
Speaking of colored fur, Jill Scott went for a dark blue topper over a cobalt gown with jeweled details for the divalicious festivities. Hmm, Jill is a gorgeous woman, but this is a bit of a color overload. And something about this ensemble reminds me of a certain cookie loving Muppet (is it just me?)…Hmm, better luck next time, Jilly.
And Emily B. showed ‘em how it’s done with an off the shoulder gunmetal gown, cinched at the waist. Understated rings completed the hot look.
Over in LA…
Jessica Alba was spotted with her hubby and kids shopping. I’m loving her laid back yet stylish ensemble. Perfect mommy duty gear for a Saturday afternoon. HOT!
Laura Govan was out spreading the holiday cheer. Her makeup looks FABULOUS and it also looks like she lost some weight (and maybe I found it *looks at little layer of flab on my tummy*). The outfit isn’t the best, but I bet she wore the green to be festive while giving back.
And finally Raven Symone was spotted with rapper Tyga giving toys to the kiddies. I’m still super salty that her show on ABC Family got canceled, but glad to see her looking cute (minus the Wonder Woman belt and the turkey feathers on her wrist). Tyga looks handsome in his all-black casual ‘fit. But then doing good always looks good ;)
