The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Oroma Elewa and Julia Sarr-Jamois Are Vogue’s Best Dressed, Tracy Reese for Clinique, and Is it Over For Marc Jacobs at Dior?

    by Jihan

    • Vogue‘s December “best dressed” issue features Wonderland Magazine fashion editor Julia Sarr- Jamois and Pop Africana creator Oroma Elewa as Vogue’s Rising Style Stars of 2011. We wholeheartedly cosign these choices! Congrats to both ladies! (Vogue)

    • Kim Kardashian covers December’s Marie Claire, with the headline “What Went on in Her Crazy Marriage,” possibly proving what we already knew: the marriage was a total sham. If the Kardashian Kamp (couldn’t resist) wanted the marriage to appear even slightly real, they would have waited ’til January to release an issue like this. Married or not, the point is we’re still talking about her. Just as Kris Jenner planned. We’ll post the hi-res version of the cover once it’s available. (Fashionista)

    • Zara‘s November lookbook is making cold weather look (dare I say) almost tolerable. Check out what the retailer will be offering this season. (Fabsugar)

    Betsey Johnson's tree

    • Macy’s is auctioning off a set of Christmas trees deigned by the likes of Rachel Roy, Michael Kors, and Kenneth Cole, to name a few. If you’d like to complete your chic Christmas with a designer tree, visit macys.com/trees to start bidding through December 2.

    • Who doesn’t like a free gift with purchase? Tracy Reese and Clinique are offering a cosmetics bag this holiday season, filled with every girl’s beauty essentials, yours with any purchase of $25 dollars or more at Nordstrom. (nitro:licious)

    • Alas, after months of speculation, rumors, and waiting for someone to just spill the beans already, it looks like we might never see Marc Jacobs at Dior. Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, has reportedly stalled talks with the designer, suggesting their inability to make a deal. With all Dior’s potential successors (they expressed interest in Céline‘s Phoebe Philo and Givenchy‘s Riccardo Tisci,) refusing to leave their current posts, a few fashion insiders are suggesting Dior just reinstate Galliano after his stint in rehab. What do you think they should do? (Vogue UK)

As far as the Kim K for Marie Claire shoot-Magazine Copy can we edited before it’s published. Especially cover copy. How do you think tabloids come out the next day with a hot topic plastered everywhere? The shoot obviously occurred before the wedding, and since they are getting divorced, wouldn’t you think Marie Claire would put something like that on the cover? I’m confused. Was Marie Claire supposed to say something like “Kim is Wedded Bliss?” umm, no, they changed the copy to fit the current events…. Happens all the time. Any respectable publication would…

i tell dior what they need to do.

first, they need to make sure that a jewish charity gets a big ass donation in john gallonofwines name

secondly, he needs to buy himself a peruvian baby

after a few photo ops with the cute baby, he can show his new collection, dedicated to his peruvian baby ofcourse.

and we’ll all forget that he said some shit and love him passionately again like we once did.

im rootin for his ass so dont even try to side eye me

I think they should rehire John Galliano. Of course we can forgive his Anti-Semantic slurs but we will never forget. NOT ONLY THAT HE WAS INTOXICATED! Not that it makes it right. But come on now lets be serious how many comments have been made about blacks and been put under the rug esp. public figures and we forgave them. Additionally, they may have stepped down. John was doing a great job. What I do not understand why is it ok in some cases to talk bad about race blacks but when it comes to other events that have taken place. Blacks had it just as bad as Jews. That is all I’m saying HIRE John after he returns from REHAB. Nobody wants the job possibly because John was doing a great JOB!

@Gary, You should go into PR! Haha!

It’s nice to see women of color (other than the usual celebs) on Vogue’s Best Dressed List.

No, John deserved to be fired. Alcohol didn’t turn him into something he wasn’t already. If you’re a bigot when you’re drunk you’re a bigot when you’re sober, the only difference is you censor what you say.

I don’t care how talented he may be, he and people like him need to see that there is a *real* professional and social consequence to their hateful behavior. Adopting a brown kid and donating a few thousand to a charity related to the group you’re hating on is not a real consequence, losing your job and the respect of your peers is.
