At a party celebrating the opening of Lanvin boutiques on Rodeo Dr and in Malibu, CA (a year later at that), creative director Alber Elbaz mentioned to the LA times that he is working on a whopping 700-page book chronicling the making of a single Lanvin collection. Sorry Sun.Kissed, but RHODC was not reflective of DC…AT ALL. That show should have been titled RH of McLean, VA. DC definitely has style and is fashionable, but I think the ranking had more to do with the size of the city itself. If DC were the size of NYC it would not rank as high. However, with roughly 500-600K people and a large percentage of it Black AND young professionals (21-35), the ranking makes sense. There’s also a large college population which adds to the mix (i.e. Howard, Georgetown, GWU, American, etc.). I think you have to look at the total picture.
