Beyonce’s video for Party has finally hit YouTube! What did you think?
In the fun short clip, she wears coats by Louis Vuitton, outfits by Givenchy, vintage Nicole Miller sequins, and lots of cool yet sultry racerback tops and monokinis with cut outs.
Celebrities have been looking might-y fly, attending fragrance launches, charity events, and book signings.
Let’s see how they showed and proved this week, shall we?
Where to begin? Zoe Saldana and Eva Longoria looked glorious in Reed Krakoff and Victoria Beckham dresses at the 2011 Glamour Reel Moments Premiere. Serena Williams majorly stepped up since her Tower Heist ensemble in a beige shift and strappy sandals (yay! no clunky shoes!) for the Burberry Body Launch in Beverly Hills . And Imani, Laura, and Gloria from Basketball Wives L.A. (my guilty pleasure) looked positively lovely at T.I.’s book launch at Porta Via Restaurant in Beverly Hills. If I had to choose a favorite, I might have to go with Keri Hilson. Looking fresh after her European tour, she hit the streets of NYC in a black and gray outfit, accented by a funky haircut and funkier chains. Love the casual simplicity of it.
• In a departure from his Resort 2012 fashion show, Karl Lagerfeld chose Joan Smalls as one of the faces for Chanel‘s Spring 2012 campaign. It must be opposite day in fashionland! Lagerfeld says the campaign was inspired by “athletics and the sea.…It’s very modern sportif and in black-and-white.” Carine Roitfeld offered her styling talents for the shoot. Can’t wait for the first images to come out! Congrats to Ms. Smalls, who will be appearing alongside Saskia de Brauw! (Fashin)
• Watch Lindsey Wixon run backwards on a giant gold hamster wheel in this behind the scenes look at the perfectly sensical Versace x H&M commercial. (Youtube)
• H&M has announced its latest designer collaboration with Trish Summerville, the costume designer for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The collection is said to be based on the main character, Lisbeth Salander‘s tough girl personal style, updated to appeal to frugal fashionistas. Prices range from $3.95 to $199. Catch it in stores December 14. (Fashionista)
• Speaking of spring campaigns, it seems our favorite Top Model reject is on the roll of a lifetime! Fatima Siad revealed to The Cut that she will be featured in the Spring 2012 campaign for Hervé Léger! When the model was asked why she went to ANTM instead of going straight to an agency to start her career, she said, “Basically, I didn’t know anything about fashion. I was very nerdy; I went to Bryn Mawr and never even noticed models when I was 21. I transferred to NYU, and as soon as I moved to New York, people were like ‘You should model! You should model!’ That was the first time I heard it in my life. Anyway, when my friend was auditioning for Top Model she asked me to go with her, and I just went with the flow all the way until I became a cast member. Next thing you know, I’m in this house with all these crazy people and I’m thinking, ‘What the f*** did I do?!’ And you don’t realize it because they kind of brainwash you. Until you get out and you realize, “Oh my gosh, I really could have just gone to an agency, because these people obviously had no interest in my career.” (The Cut)

106 & Park co-host Rocsi Diaz hosted A Conversation With The Tower Heist director Brett Ratner last night at the Dream Downtown Hotel in a delightfully sheer stretch Knit Maxi dress by A.L.C :
Diaz hopped on one of the hottest trends from Fall 2011: showing off a peak of undergarments under a totally sheer dress or skirt as spied on the runways of Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Givenchy:
Gucci Fall 2011
Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011
Givenchy Fall 2011
Diaz isn’t the only celeb to hop on board!
Ciara wore a sheer Emilio Pucci dress for a Karl Lagerfeld cocktail party during Paris Fashion Week. Lala wore Dolce & Gabbana’s star printed sheer dress right off the runway for the debut of Full Court Life back in August.
And Jessica White wore a sheer white lace outfit for her birthday.
Would you rock it? I think I’d go for Ciara’s version, with a bodysuit underneath.
However you’d wear it, get the look with these:
Othello says, ” I’m in the market for a nice winter jacket. Preferably brown leather with good lining. Enduring style…not trendy / fashionable. $400-$500 budget. Do you have any suggestions?”
For sure! You can find lots of classic, timeless styles for your price range.
