Rihanna visited the Christ the Redeemer Statue in Rio de Janeiro yesterday rocking $290 Prada Baroque sunglasses in Havana, what appears to be a $198 Equipment Signature Silk shirt, cut off denim shorts, and $1,550 Givenchy Ankle Wrap Caged Booties:
She topped everything off with a camouflage jacket. She looks like she’s struggling in those shoes, huh?

The latest craze in foundation is the satin finish. Not quite dewy, not quite matte, satin. The look allows for a bit of a glow something similar to what you’d get after a quick run. It’s totally natural and just about every skin type can rock it.
It was also the look celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal, who celebs like Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez have called on for their signature makeup looks, created for the Tracy Reese Spring 2012 runway show. Using her Perfect Prep Poreless Primer (my FAVE primer of the moment) to prep the skin, Mally then continued with her Ultimate Performance Professional Foundation for flawless coverage, then her 24/7 Blush to create a natural flush, and set it all with her Poreless Face Defender, the world’s first clear setting powder. The finished look is pictured above and below.
You can get the look at home by following Mally’s tips, but you can also recreate it with your liquid foundation and using powder just on the T-zone to get that satin finish. Don’t forget a coral blush (the darker your skin, the brighter the blush) to create that gorgeous flushed looks all the models rocked at Tracy Reese. Since the emphasis is on the skin, you can do little else with the rest of your face—some mascara and gloss will do ya.

I’m sitting here in Milano, eating a slice a pizza, preparing for the 20th anniversary party of Piazza Sempione. The sun is shining (and I want to grab some gelato!), so Mail Bombs will be quick and to the point.

• The Nelson Mandela Foundation has launched a sportswear line, 46664, named after his prison ID number. While I haven’t rocked a polo in a minute, Mr. Mandela might be getting me back into the trend with these bold hues.

• Don’t you wish the CFDA would stop commissioning designers to make fab capsule collections and limited edition pieces? As part of their CDFA/Vogue Eyewear 2011 project “The City,” the council has called upon Rebecca Minkoff to design a pair of sunglasses worthy of shading the eyes of any platform wedge teetering fashionista. Minkoff offers these “The Bowery” shades, named after the famed New York City street that used to be a mecca for drunk hobos, but now boasts overpriced real estate, complete with the most trendy roaches and rats the city has to offer. • In collaboration with Italian mosaic artist Sicis, Christian Lacroix has created a furniture collection I imagine one might find in the townhouse of Absolutely Fab’s Edina Monsoon. Yet Lacroix used a more obscure reference as the inspiration for his design, as he tried to “imagine how a modern-day Theodora would decorate her home.” Theodora, by the by was the daughter of a bear trainer who grew up to be a courtesan and a political and women’s rights activist. Aside from corseted dresses, Dolce is known for their copious leopard print, so I pulled on an Essendi leopard print button down with a pleated leather number from Zara. I finished my look off with my staples: YSL Tribtoos, my Melody Ehsani “Fly’ ring, Dolce & Gabbana aviators, and a pop of Ruby Woo.

Beyonce switched from Roberto Cavalli sequins to a Lanvin Resort 2012 floor length feathery frock for the New York launch of her new fragrance, Pulse. For her photo opp, she pulled on the same $1,195 Nicholas Kirkwood Lace-Up Lace Platform Sandals Lala Vazquez-Anthony wore to a Knicks vs. Celtics game:
While Beyonce chose to somewhat hide her haute shoes under a long hem, Lala let her heels take center court with rolled up jeans and a Pleasure Doing Business heart print bustier.
The sandals feature a split top with latticework suede and shoestring laces.
It’s admittedly hard to see Beyonce’s shoes, so this one’s a toughie. Whose outfit do you prefer?
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana announced that today’s D&G Spring 2012 show would be their last; they’ll be folding the diffusion line under their main Dolce & Gabbana umbrella, thus ending an era of playful separates earmarked for a younger crowd. Fittingly, their last collection for D&G seemed more grown up–handkerchief prints and hems, resort ready slacks, dripping gold jewelry–yet still stayed true to D&G’s signature multi-hued funk with an onslaught of simmering colors, ribbon laden platform heels, and a bevy of fun prints:
Scarf prints in gold, blue, pink, red, and green set the scene, buttressed by button down white shirts in short suits or mixed and matched together fashioning floor and thigh grazing skirts and gowns:
Polka dots popped as well, flowing on halter and bra tops, and making quick appearances on select sashes:
Large floppy hats added a dash of insouciance to the collection, which also featured flat jewel encrusted sandals and quilted shoulder bags:
I’m a sucker for color in cool combinations, so loved this collection:
