Head on over to Vogue.it for the latest catwalk collections from London, along with a few of my reviews:
Basso & Brooke Spring 2012
About Basso & Brooke, I said, “London Fashion Week began with a splash with Basso & Brooke’s psychedelic, multicolored Spring 2012 collection. Vibrant purple, lava, yellow, and red bounced off of form skimming garments, brought further to life by well edited yet equally electric neck pieces.”
Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey seemingly took a trip to Africa to inspire his latest collection, casting the brand’s traditional trenches and separates in ankara prints along with autumnal berries, moss greens, turquoises, ochres, and browns.
Pom pom hats topped outfits accessorized by chunky beaded necklaces, oversized travelers, and platform shoes:
Close fit knits mixed with knee touching A-line and pencil skirts; straight shifts enjoyed beaded details; coats and dresses were cinched at the waist with striped harness leather belts:
I could see myself wearing a few of the cropped canvas numbers, and Lord knows I’m a sucker for a hot pencil skirt:
I’m also a fan of a few of the more subtle re-imaginings of the trench: What do you guys think of Burberry’s latest?

Jennifer Hudson looked ravishing in a red long sleeved dress at Self Magazine’s 2011 Women Doing Good Awards:
The svelte actress finished the look with platform ankle strap heels and a bright red lip.

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know I’ve been having a fantastic time at London Fashion Week!
From shows to parties to Real Style, the UK has a lot to offer, and is definitely a must stop for any fashionista.
Here are a few highlights from my short trip:
A few days ago, after hitting up the Topshop Unique and Peter Jensen shows (reviews on Vogue.it), I went to the Mulberry party where I ran into Kelis. The consummate fashionista is in town performing, and was attending a few shows during the day. She admired my Peace Images Fandango earrings (I first wore them here), then agreed to take a pic. She was super sweet!
The party itself had an English seaside theme, replete with stuffed animals, ice cream, and fun hors d’oevres like fish & chips, hamburgers, and hot dogs.
My friends and I took a quick pic with a few new animal friends….
Then we called it a night!
The next day I attended the Burberry show (review to come):
The high wattage show took place at Kensington Gardens in an expansive venue replete with sky lights:
Apparently Kanye West was in the house, though I couldn’t spy him from my vantage point (I was in the nosebleed section. Lol).
At any rate, I was super excited to see Trav & Josh of Street Etiquette afterwards:
The two are in town care of Tumblr, and have been shooting fun style diaries all over town. Stay tuned to their blog (www.streetetiquette.com) and their tumblr (www.streetetiquette.tumblr.com) for the scoop.
And that does it!
I update my own Tumblr www.xoxoclaire.com pretty frequently with pix of what I’m up to, so check it out! Also, follow me on Twitter for the blow-by-blow.
I’m off to Milan tomorrow. Can’t wait!
Smootches!
• We already knew it was coming, but VH1 has officially announced their plans for a docu-series featuring the inimitable June Ambrose! The June Ambrose Project (working title) will follow the famed stylist and her crew as Ms. Ambrose does what she does best– make the stars look fabulous! I will be watching with stalkerish intensity. Will you? (Hollywood Reporter)
• You didn’t need another reason to love the positively adorable Nyasha Matonhodze, but I’m giving you one. Watch her backstage at Richard Chai (rocking the pervasive purple lip) and Y-3, goofing around with (my model obsession), Ajak Deng, and getting hyped at Peter Som. (The Cut)
• E-bay has launched its long-overdue Fashion Outlet, with designer duds at up to 65% off the original prices. Cop pieces from the likes of Nanette Lepore, Vivienne Tam, and more. Because clearly we needed another site on which to spend that money we originally set aside to pay our phone bill. (Ebay)
• How much would you pay for a t-shirt with a perpetual coffee stain? Starbucks thinks $85 is a fair price. To celebrate its 40th birthday, the coffee powerhouse has teamed up with a few CFDA designers to peddle t-shirts conceptualized by the likes of Alexander Wang, Sophie Theallet, and Billy Reid. Is this something you would buy? (Fashionista)
• Why must I cry? Here’s a look at the hair for the Sass & Bide show during London Fashion Week. I smell a new, particularly pungent hipster trend. (Refinery29)
Today’s Bombshell is Renata from Philly:
She says, “I’m 31-years-old from Philly and I’m in the Armed Forces.”
“I love to travel and this year alone your site has helped me with my vacation wardrobe.” “… I used to be scared of colors especially with my make-up but your weekend make-up ideas has me jumping out of the box.” ” I don’t have the words to describe my look, I didn’t really know I had style…” “..until my friends started asking for advice and I started shopping for them. “
Love your colorful trapeze dress with orange flats! I probably would have worn something else underneath that lattice knit sweater, but all in all your looks have lots of potential! What do you think?
