• … And the answer is a resounding “Yes.” André Leon Talley confirms he is indeed leaving America’s Next Top Model. “I had a fabulous time. It was a mutual agreement. There is no unhappiness, at all,” he says. Excuse me while I put on my ALT approved mourning robe. (Page Six)
• Here’s a look at the hipster-tastic preview video for Balmain‘s diffusion line, Pierre Balmain. Peep the Gandalf beards on Abbey Lee Kershaw‘s bandmates. Not at all the business! They’re probably what she’s running from through most of the clip! The line will make its runway debut in Paris this Sunday. Get excited for t-shirts starting at $174. Hey, at least they won’t have coffee spilled all over them? (The Cut)
• It is the time of reckoning: Kanye West‘s womenswear line is set to debut during Paris Fashion Week on October 1st. Rolling Stone gives us some juicy details on what the fashionisto may deliver. Look out for “inventive knitwear,” “colorblocking,” and a hefty price tag. Grazia reports the pieces will be “extraordinarily expensive; some of it is virtually unproduceable.” Color me unsurprised. With this talk of hefty price tags and relative unwearability (in the tradition of Lady Gaga, I’m assuming), I expect this collection to be the opposite of underwhelming. Yeezy better bring it! (Rolling Stone)
• Our girl Fatima Siad just keeps getting work! Here she is walking in Dries Van Noten. Yes! A real ANTM reject walking in a high fashion show. Somewhere, Mama Tyra‘s ever-smizing eyes are brimming with tears of joy. (The Cut)
• If you didn’t see it yet, here’s a more extensive sneak peek of the Versace x H&M collection in Vogue Russia, of all magazines. Get excited, and ready to possibly sleep on the sidewalk outside the store November 17th. (nitro:licious)
• Some of ya’ll had that Polaner All-Fruit moment after seeing Nicki Minaj sitting next to Anna Wintour at the Carolina Herrera show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. It turns out the whole thing was orchestrated by Anna herself! The New York Daily News Reports: “The singer, who performed last weekend at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas, explained that Wintour personally invited her to the Herrera show and later sent Minaj an inscribed photo of the two watching the fashion promenade. “We match!” wrote Wintour, apparently referring to the fact they’d both worn patterned attire.” So there you have it! Clearly the editrix is a fan of the Harajuku Barbie’s off-beat sense of style. Minaj and Wintour. Who’da thunk? (NYDN)

Yes! Yeezy better bring it. I’m mad at Tyra for that pic with ALT though. It’s funny because I never realized Anna & Nicki had on similar colors until now of course. Craziness!

So we have to all look like idiots to get some type of acclaim from Ms Wintour. SMFH . Im Out.

I already put in for a day off on 11/17, this is one collection I do not mind standing outside (or having someone stand outside for me while I’m in my car) for. My adrenaline is already pumping!!

I figured Anna invited her, considering she once invited her to perform at another fashion event. However, I think most people’s issue what she wore, not her sitting next to Anna. I knew that was planned.

call me silly, but what is the point of launching an “unwearable” clothing line? why is this good? unwearable and outrageously expensive means it won’t be sold, which means it’s just a huge waste of time and money. It seems like he’s just doing this show just to do it, he doesn’t seem very serious about being a designer.
September 29, 2011 1:51 pm
oh and I figured Anna invited Nicki. I honestly can’t see any designers inviting Nicki to sit front row, especially not Herrera.
