• It’s official! Giambattista Valli will be designing a line for Macy’s, set to release October 26! While there were rumors swirling for the past few months, Macy’s has finally confirmed the launch. Prices will range from $50-$150. Between Valli for Macy’s in October and Versace for H&M in November, it looks like fall’s gonna be an exciting time for budget fashionistas! (Fashionista)

• For the umpteempth time, Forever 21 is being sued for copyright infringement. Independent label Feral Childe, popular for its eco-friendly designs, is suing over a pattern the fast fashion giant has very obviously knocked off. Like any good corporate entity, Forever 21 denies all guilt, instead impressing the blame upon their suppliers. The owner, Do Wan “Don” Chang, says the company trusts their suppliers and cannot check every item to ensure originality. So as to make sure all parties are held responsible, Feral Childe is also suing Forever 21′s suppliers! In spite of the numerous times they’ve been sued, Forever 21 has never been found guilty of copyright infringement. We’ll see what happens as this case unfolds! (The Cut)

I have to say I am surprised Forever 21 still exists with the amount of copying they do. Don’t get me wrong, I love some Forever 21, but I must say that they do copy other people’s designs. I have bought shirts from other stores and gone to Forever 21 to find the exact same thing in a different quality.
I believe that Forever 21 is great for serving a budget conscious audience, but there are times when I feel they taking copying way too far.
Although I do believe some designers should lower prices, I also believe they work hard and should not have to worry about another scooping up their design.

I like Forever 21 but copyright infringement is unacceptable. They need to be held accountable because they still benefit financially from ripped off pieces/ designs.
