One question, has there ever been an African-American females on the cover of Latina Magazine?

One question: it´s not possible be latin and black at the same time?

One question: Can you compare Zoe to Taraji P. Henson or Nia Long? Big difference in lineage and culture.

Yes, being latina is not default white or even a “race” of its own but rather a culture. Yet, we-black people-are the only ones who have to consistently quantify ourselves (how many times do you hear someone say a “white American” yet in the Latin culture there is negrita and blatina). It does however highlight the issue that we probably should officially retire the term “African American” since the black people in America now are from all over and culturally diverse. I love Zoe too.

*qualify not quantify

Zoe did a great job in Colombiana. My problem is with the actress; she does not respect black people. Zoe does not embrace or stand up for the fact that she is a black women. I don’t think she should be on the cover of a black magazine; it sends the wrong message to black people. Not until she states consistently that she is a black women.

@ Anne…Zoe is not even considered black…shes DOMINICAN and PUERTORICAN and actually lived in the Dominican Republic which is where she probably learned to speak in spanish…this is the problem that we have with her…she runs around saying that she is black and doesnt advocate enough that she is LATIN!

Who put any of you in charge of who is black and who isn’t black. Wake the phuck up black folks. We have more important things to fight about.
