Good golly, miss Molly it is hot on the east coast!
My #1 rule for this kind of weather is no pants. While it would be wonderful to stay inside, lavishing in the air conditioning all day, at some point we will all have to go outside into the hot, sticky abyss. Here are some tips on how to stay relatively comfortable:
Day Dresses And Maxis:
The temperature is at its hottest during daylight hours, so it’s important to be mindful of the sorts of dresses you wear. Unless you want to melt like the Wicked Witch of The West, steer clear of anything clingy or skin-tight. You want your clothes to breathe, so take advantage of any welcome breeze that may stir up. Keep dresses loose-fitting. Try to look for eyelets– they’re like built-in air conditioning. Stick to light, breathable fabrics like linen and cotton: avoid polyester like the plague. Maxi dresses and skirts are your best friends if you don’t want to show too much skin while remaining cool.

Cool Tops And Shorts:
This classic choice for hot weather can go wrong if you don’t choose the right shapes and fabrics. T-shirts should always be loose and airy. Save the fitted tees for cooler temperatures! Short shorts are not always comfortable. Choose ones that are cut a bit looser, so they don’t cling to your nether regions. The last thing anyone wants in this heat is a sweaty derriere!

Going somewhere fancy this weekend? Evening wear can be cool and comfortable if you play it right. Look for dresses with cutouts, or something flowy and loose.
