The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Naomi Campbell is Always Fashionably Late, Freida Pinto For Interview Magazine, And House of Harlow 1960 Introduces Handbag Line
By The Fashion Bomb Staff

Premier Model Management agent Carole White reminisced with the UK Telegraph about her glorious days managing Naomi Campbell. She said, “Naomi was less disciplined and used to get me into trouble. Mostly it was because she was late, but sometimes she just didn’t turn up. I used to lie to her about what time she had to be at a job, but she soon worked that out, so I had to lie further. If the call time was 10am, I would tell her it was 8am so she would think it was 9am, but I still had to cross my fingers that she’d be on time. She missed planes too. Once after she missed a flight to Austria I had to organize a private jet to get her to the job because the money was so huge she had to be there.” Damn, Naomi, how you gonna be on CP time? (UK Telegraph)

Vogue has tapped into the blogosphere to build a network of 1,000 influencers to help their advertisers get the word out on their products. Ahem– hello? Vogue? We’re right here! (Adweek)

• The gorgeous Frieda Pinto covers Interview’s August 2011 issue. She could emote with her eyes a little more, don’t you think? (Fashion Gone Rogue)

• Last night, Alexander Wang premiered his Fall 2011 collection all over the West side of Manhattan with a series of “gritty and raw” video projections. They will continue on both Thursday and Friday nights. You can catch the previews on the Upper West Side, The Meatpacking District, and in SoHo. Way to “get gritty” in some of the most expensive parts of New York City, Mr. Wang! (WWD)

LVMH pledges to place more women in upper management positions within the company. They plan to raise the proportion of women on corporate boards to 30% by 2015 and 40% by 2020. Sounds like it’s time to apply for a job at LVMH! (The Cut)

Nicole Richie is adding a handbag collection to House of Harlow 1960 for the fall! Prices range from $150-$625. They will be available quite soon (mid-July) at Bergdorf Goodman, Shopbop, Nieman Marcus, and Nordstrom. What do you think? Hot or Hmm? (nitro:licious)

    Pro-Nicole! Hot!

  2. Gemini says:

    Freida Pinto looks sleepy on the cover of Interview mag. LOL

  3. Ms. One says:

    *Laughing to myself* at the Naomi article….and thus I don’t use professional models…some of them are way too vain for words. Glad that as a designer I have model-like friends who I can work with.
    Disclaimer: I know, I know…this doesn’t speak for all models, but I can’t say I’ve heard any better about most of them…there I said it.

  4. Sticky-n-Sweet says:

    @Ms. One-

    The industry is clamoring for “non-model” looking models these days anyway. Naomi is beautiful but sadly, that is it. There are very little redeeming qualities to that woman SMH.

  5. Sticky-n-Sweet says:

    @ the LVMH post- With all the women having babies by Pinault these days, he must be on the hunt for some new-new. Salma can’t be happy about that news!
