OK–so maybe you’re head over heels in love with the fact that a major brand like MAC has fully embraced your favorite beauty bloggers to create a collection, but you’re not quite sure how to wear brown beauty blogger du jour Afrobella‘s vivacious violet shade. This lipglass is something else because not only can it stand out beautifully on its own, here’s at least five more ways to rock the gorgeous shade:
1. Pair it with veteran beauty blogger Lianne Farbes of TheMakeupGirl.net‘s Hocus Pocus shadow for a sultry look. Hocus Pocus was created with making the smoky eye simple in mind. This look is perfect for a night out on the town and for when fall rolls in.
2. Vamp it all the way up with a deep burgundy lip pencil like MAC Nightmoth. Sure it doesn’t say summer but can be a welcome surprise from your typical brights and neutrals.
3. Wear it with loads of mascara, very little else on the eyes, and a bright coral blush. Keeping the color focused on just the lips and cheeks is a very fresh way to wear brights even for bright-phobes.
4. Color block it! Grab a deep shimmery green like MAC Humid or a “blue jeans” blue like MAC Deep Truth eyeshadow. You can even take it all the way up with a bold yellow like MAC Chrome Yellow.
5. Add some red to it by mixing it with your favorite crimson lipstick or gloss.

Terrible that I’m stalking the website, waiting for it to go on sale. Its just the color I want for the summer. Like you said its definitely not your typical summer color, but that’s just like me to wear something unexpected….. I can’t wait!

@Danielle RIGHT! It was available last night for a bit , but then Mac pulled the entire line about 9 PST. Mac is saying 12 for it to be up online according to Afrobella’s twitter.

@Jaz I really hope they fill the orders placed before they pulled the line because guess who will be up at MAC headquarters…lol.
@LawyerChic last night when it was up you had to go to the actual product category (i.e. lipglass, eyeshadow) and look for the item by name in the drop down menu. Sneaky…lol. I hope it comes back up soon though.

I am excited for her and I will be ordering mine tonight. I am going to wear it alone as suggested and I will try it with the nightmoth lip liner and possibly to brighten up my MAC lipstick in Film Noire.

I won’t be purchasing it. The color doesn’t appeal to me at all. Good for the bloggers involved though.
