I don’t work at a fancy investment bank all day, give me a break!

I noticed that she was taking the editorial route per promotion instead of the usual music countdown appearance here and there. I like this route, its not so much in your face and she gets to be specific about which publication hits a particular fan base around the world. I’m sure there are scans on the internet lol :P

Lol people relax it was meant to be funny and make us think a bit. IMO I think Beyonce is too much in our faces right now but I understand where her team is coming from (trying to cover ALL the bases). But they need to be careful because people like myself would be a lil annoyed when her name is called or a new song drops.. but we’d see how this prgresses.
Anyhow this writing was a lil surprising for this site which usually tries to remain fairly neutral but I liked it, it was refreshing

I am not a huge fan but I enjoy listening to 4 ever since I got my free copy of the album from a friend two weeks ago like many others. I can’t see the purpose for actually purchasing the album since it was leaked. For the record, there are a few songs that I actually play on repeat.

I understand that the article is supposed to be a somewhat sarcastic satire of all of Beyaki’s magazine covers but I do agree with Lauren J; however I won’t say that the article was “retarded” (I dislike that word for personal reasons). Maybe it’s slow news day but you can tell that the article is poorly thought out and written by an intern hence the poor syntax and structure.
@Chrissy – Your analogy to ppl being anti Beyonce being the equivalend of whites admitting to being part of the KKK makes absolutely no sense at all.

I thought it was light-hearted. I was impressed with the compilation of pictures and the sarcastic tone.
It is quite harsh to fault find and make mention of any mistakes that would identify her writing level as that of an intern.
Keep in mind that we ALL make mistakes. Everyone. Even the most seasoned writer for a reputable publication needs spell check. How else would the term typographical error be derived? There is a special section in the newspaper for these errors printed daily for this very reason.
There is always a way to constructively better a person without first putting them down.

Its an “open letter” fyi, that implies that her (jihan’s) tone will be more relaxed, more personal….hence the CHOSEN syntax (another way to say arrangement of words in a sentence). Its a social dialect she is using, an ebonics of sorts.
She wrote a letter to her “girl”, not Mrs. Obama or an English prof.

I agree with Jihan – she’s everywhere. I can’t think of another celebrity who has whitewashed the media when s/he’s had an album out. I’m not a huge B fan and this PR overload is making me wonder, is the album any good? And what is a stan – a reference to the Eminem song? (not heard of it over here in the UK)

Like many who probably have written on this post, I feel the pain. I’ve been collecting pictures since fourteen with Beyonce in them. I have stopped now but if I was continuing my collage book, I would be broke for the fact that within the past month or two, she’s on just about every cover important (or not). As a purchaser and fan of Bey’s work, I can’t help but wonder as well, is this album worth it? It doesn’t seem like she’s had to put so much work before for her other three albums.
And Jihan, I’m an inexperienced commoner in this world and have no idea what it takes to be an intern for FB but I must say, you’re doing a good job in my book.

honestly i love beyonce as a performer. however, i think she shouldve spent more time on the music instead of posing for so many magazines. i check her website everyday for the tracks she releases and honestly, im not impressed. i doubt im gonna drop a dime on that cd when it comes out. im just gonna keep dangerously in love & sasha fierce in rotation til she comes with something better.

At first, I felt that Bey was doing a horrible job at promotion for her forth coming album, but then I realized…BEY IS KILLIN IT. She is performing almost a new tactic of marketing, which is like a trickling effect. People state that her promotion is weak, but what we have failed to realize is that everyone knows her album is coming out because of all these magazine covers. There is no need for her no a days to do guest appearences on shows such at 106 and Ellen because no matter what, we will watch it on youtube or our daily blogs and not the show. We are entering a generation where we control our time, and Bey realized that. There is no point in visiting all these shows, if my fans will watch it online. By doing high fashion spreads, she enters a new marker (rich people, lol) and also with this, it trickles down to blogs who will ALWAYS post what she has to say. This cut cost, time and also energy. By this, she is able to perform in new venues, such as festivals where she will come in contact with true music lovers (who ACTUALLY buy CD’s). Her marketing plan is odd, but genius. She will sell nothing less than 600 next week!
