Well summertime is here, and of course guys want to look just as cool yet sophisticated as the ladies in warmer temps!
In case your boo wants to pull on a pair of shorts, tell him to first check out our quick guide to wearing shorts artfully.
Here are five fun do’s and don’ts:
1. Do choose the right length.
Anything from mid-thigh to just below the knee is certainly acceptable. If your shorts are too long, you’ll veer into awkward capri territory (and at that point why not just wear pants?).
Also anything shorter…is just uncivilized.
2. Don’t Sag.
It’s no longer the naughty nineties gentlemen. Pull those pants up! We really don’t need to see your underwear.
3. Do Incorporate Color.

It’s the summer, so have fun. Veer away from predictable khaki with shorts in red or even purple. Really, you can do it.
4. Don’t wear athletic shorts off the court.
Leave your oversized gym shorts for when you’re working out (or en route to working out). Athletic shorts are simply not ok for lunch dates, barbeques, or dinner. Note: they can be acceptable for super casual days hanging with your boo.
5. Do play with prints.
Once again, it’s ok to be a bit bold. Not everyone can pull off ice cream shorts like Pharrell, but camouflage or stripes work for just about anyone.

Mostly just… Don’t Sag! I saw a guy on the subway a few days ago sitting and the waist of his pants were at his knees! I didn’t understand it. I still don’t understand it and I’ve been telling everyone I see about it. I can’t.

If shorts fall below the knee, cuff them for a more fitted look.
I also agree, man capris are a huge NO. Great post!

Tip #7…No denim shorts a la the late 90s, early 2000s. Cargo and chino shorts are the new look for men. I die inside when I see a random straggler wearing big, baggy denim shorts that look like they came with a matching denim jacket. *bbm rolling on the floor face*

Cargos and Camo shorts look the best IMO. I’m a sporty active girl so I don’t mind bball shorts as long as the setting is casual. My man will NEVER wear brightly colored shorts above his knee, that is only for the brave fashionisto.

You can play with prints depending who you are and what you are wearing, everything else I totally agree no sagging, incorporate colors. Also as far as length it depends on who you are and where you are going when it comes to length. Men who want there shorts to sag should just buy come capris

As much as I love Kanye, no one needs to be wearing a heavy jacket and a scarf if it’s shorts weather, and if it’s scarf and jacket weather, it is also pants weather. What, your shins don’t get cold? Silly.

ITA with dont sag rule!!! whats the point of the shorts/ pants if you underwear are showing. and i have to say that photo of bow wow and souljah boy looks pretty gay to me (i have nothing against gay people at all) its just odd since rap is so sexualized and hyper-hetero and then i see a pic of 2 rappers hugging sweaty, shirtless, and with their underwear all out.
