Popular shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood opened a boutique showcasing a collection of one-off couture shoes dedicated to famed 80′s pop artist, Keith Haring. The bold colored shoes are dazzled with Swarovski crystals and range from lucite-heeled pumps advocating safe sex to a pair of blue and black thigh-high roller blades.
Kirkwood said, “I’ve grown up with Keith Haring’s work around me. It’s so ubiquitous, you saw it before you even knew it was art. The bold colors, defined shapes and edges––that aspect of it, to me, made it perfect for a shoe.”
The collection is showing at the designer’s London boutique until July 1st. For those of you who won’t be able to make it across the pond in time, peep the video:

I love his work. I remember similar iconography from Sesame street animations growing up. Don’t think I would rock them though; simply because the heels aren’t practical for me. I’d trip, fall down all over the place and I cyar bear that embarrassment.
