Praise the fashion gods!
It seems Balmain‘s decision to replace creative director Christophe Decarnin with Oliver Rousteing was only the first step in recreating the brand. The house has confirmed that they will be launching a new diffusion line in September called “Pierre Balmain,” after the founder of the fashion house. Balmain maintains the line will be more youthful and best of all, cheaper than the parent line.

With regular Balmain prices hovering around $3,000 for a dress and $5,000 for a jacket, we’re assuming ‘affordable’ means in the $300-$500 range…
Still, can’t wait to see what they come up with.
The first collection will be for Spring/Summer 2012. Be on the lookout Bombshells!

Just for fun, check out a few celebs rocking Balmain:

I’m going to need these interns to edit before they post:
“With prices on in store Balmain items” huh?!

$300-500 is more affordable? I guess it is but regular working girls are not gonna spend this kind of money on Balmain. Besides, Balmain uses a lot of designs from other designers.

Common give the interns a break, had the post not be signed “intern 2″ we would have thought nothing of it. On a lighter note the diffusion line sounds like a great idea, however $300-500 still sounds pretty expensive for one article of clothing. Maybe if it’s that fierce I will consider splurging, lol..

That sounds like music to my ears. I believe I would pay $300-500 depending on the piece. Let’s see what they have to offer.

@Cheeky I’ll take the blame on that one. I do my best to edit everything before it publishes, but must have overlooked that clunky phrase. Thanks for calling it out, though, it’s fixed:) xx

300-500 is very affordable for luxury brands. especially balmain. just becuase forever 21 and h&m exists does not mean you should be able to buy a whole outfitt for $9.99.

good job to the intern for this research. Hype to wear Balmain at a cheaper range soon.
