Rachel Roy and Amare Stoudemire Collaborate on Line Geared Towards Women Who Watch Sports

As we reported here, designer Rachel Roy and basketball player Amare Stoudemire have been rumored to be collaborating on a line for a while.
Today they confirmed the rumor to Women’s Wear Daily , telling them what we can expect from their line :

Roy says, “I am channeling a girl that goes to sporting events…She goes to basketball events or maybe football events. She needs something that is modern, something that represents her in a way that doesn’t look like it just came out of a sporting goods shop…I think I would like to teach girls that you don’t necessarily have to wear high heels to watch sports, but you can be casually chic.” Hmm, I wonder who she could be referring to

About the collaboration, Amare added, “I pretty much let her drive the car and I am just being the maintenance man. Basketball is a natural thing for me, and I have been playing basketball as long as I can remember, but designing is new to me. I never had to pick out sketches.”

Should be interesting. The collection will be available in select Macy’s, with prices ranging from $45-$250.
Does it sound like something you would rock?
