I know we focus on fashionistas of color, but when I saw pictures of Jessica Simpson at US Weekly’s Hot Hollywood party, I had to post!

The former reality starlet cum design guru posed on the cream carpet in a $1,275 Etro Printed silk-blend mini dress and $779 Charlotte Olympia Dolly suede platform pumps:
The multicolored shift dress with ethnic style print was toned down by her black suede pumps with a gold toned island platform.
What do you think of her look?

See who else was at the party:

What do you think of us posting…diverse subjects from time to time?

Loving JS look….
April 27, 2011 1:08 pm
Love the dress.
Claire, I come to this website because I love seeing various fashion pieces. I don’t care who or what 0_o… is wearing them lol. Funny, I just realized a few days ago that you’re sister and I went to NYU together. Small world.

Lauren Conrad is my secret style crush.
Diversity is good sometimes, but NO PARIS HILTON EVER please. Thanks!
April 27, 2011 1:13 pm
I usually am not a big Jessica Simpson fashion fan, but I really like this look on her; its very flattering.
I agree with MissCSE…afterall, variety is the spice of life.
April 27, 2011 1:14 pm
Diversity is a great thing. And I second no Paris Hilton EVER!
April 27, 2011 1:22 pm
I’m all about the fashion so whoever happens to be wearing it doesn’t matter as much to me. Jessica Simpson looks super cute but I wish she would’ve done something different with her hair. I love LC’s style… always cute and appropriate.
April 27, 2011 1:30 pm
I like the diversity from time to time…
April 27, 2011 1:31 pm
Fashion has no color line! Go for it!!
April 27, 2011 1:31 pm
I’m loving Hayden’s outfit!!
Sleek and nicely polished…
April 27, 2011 1:37 pm
Jessica looks saucy and I love it :) diversity from time to time is nice….but not Paris or too much Kim K….please and thank you….we see them too much elswhere.
April 27, 2011 1:44 pm
Hayden Panettier wasn’t the girl in Scream 4? Anyway, Jessica Simpson looks great.
April 27, 2011 1:46 pm
Diversity – yes, of course! The only reason I feel the need to read a site that focuses on “fashionistas of color” is because they are under represented in other places. We know you’ll still make sure there’s also a good dose of melanin in the mix :)
April 27, 2011 1:49 pm
I think its great to open up. Women of all ages and races can kill.it. on the red carpet.
April 27, 2011 1:50 pm
Yeah, no Kimmie K. Dear lord!
April 27, 2011 2:13 pm
Stop playing…a mess…
April 27, 2011 2:16 pm
Umm whats up with Jessica’s hair. It just overwhelming her face and thats not cool. I’m not really feeling many of the women here. I only like the lady in the red dress.
April 27, 2011 2:42 pm
There’s nothing wrong with diversity, however this is one of the sites that I log onto to specifically see people of color in the entertainment industry. Everyone else that you posted today are given 10 times the exposure everywhere else, so forgive me for not being enthusiastic about seeing their photos here. I’m just saying. The actresses of color got lost in it all… as usual. shrugs.
You’re joking with that Paris Hilton picture right? lol
April 27, 2011 2:46 pm
ETA: Good thing you posted a picture of the dress solo, it did nothing for me as a part of Jessica’s ensemble.
April 27, 2011 3:13 pm
I don’t mind, as long as the non-black celebrities highlighted are wearing something you found personally incredibly striking because as caribelle said, non-black women are profiled all over the place.
April 27, 2011 3:20 pm
I get everybody’s point but I am in lines with caribbelle’s statement above. No offense but I am pretty sure you can search and go on other popular sights to know what Jessica Simpson, Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Conrad, etc. wore since these celebs fashion is nearly always covered from the good to the bad more so than what the celebs Claire shows here. So I don’t see the point in being redundant. And off topic, but I find it funny that we always have to be the ones being diverse first and foremost when we ask and nearly beg and plea for other popular websites, magazines, etc. to give us as people of color more coverage and a little more press concerning fashion…blank stares…
April 27, 2011 3:44 pm
I agree with Binks and Caribbelle. I think it’s good to be diverse sometimes as long as you continue to highlight us. Perhaps you could be even more diverse by including more starlets of color (other than African-American & Hispanic) on your blog. For instance, Fan Bingbing and Aishwarya Ri have great style.
April 27, 2011 3:47 pm
I love Diversity. I look to more than just brown sistas as fashion inspiration. More please!!
April 27, 2011 3:51 pm
Claire presents her posts in a more authentic and inspiring way. So for her to showcase diverse women styles, would be much differently than people dot com or whomever. I would like claire’s take much more than those other sites
More please!
April 27, 2011 3:52 pm
I love me some LC. Her little line in Kohl’s always has some winners.
JS is the only thing up there with some curves huh? I like the diversity of bodies!
That Hayden is too cute <3

i love jessica simpson’s and dayna ramirez’s look. i think a little diversity is good. maybe profiling other fashionista’s of color would be better then white fashionsita’s because they are constantly shown on most mainstream websites. and if i never saw paris hilton again, it would be too long.
April 27, 2011 5:39 pm
* i meant- and if i never saw paris hilton again, it would be too soon
April 27, 2011 6:26 pm
I think it’s cool to include others to highlight a particularly outstanding piece like Simpson’s dress. However, you could’ve left Hayden, Paris, et. al. out of the photo lineup of other attendees. Other media have them covered. I have to come to niche sites like yours to see what the naturally french vanilla and darker fashionables are up to and I don’t want them to get lost here too.
April 27, 2011 6:40 pm
Lauren C. that’s my g she looks amazing and I am loving the darker lip! Hayden and Garcelle look beautiful.
April 27, 2011 7:15 pm
If this were solely a hair/beauty blog I could understand the opposition to including a more diverse range of celebs but in regards to fashion, I agree with Chimee that fashion has no color so I welcome including celebs that are not of color.
I don’t think featuring anyone who isn’t of color would be any more “redundant” than some of the pictures posted here that show up on popular tumblr sites or other blogs that focus of people of color.
April 27, 2011 7:28 pm
I don’t think other sites go in depth with fashion, styles and looks for people of color like this one does, of course you can fine picture and people could tell you what popular figues of color are wearing but usually the buck stops there
April 27, 2011 7:32 pm
jessica simpson looks bloated !
April 27, 2011 7:54 pm
I appreciate that The Fashion Bomb mainly focus on women of color as they are often overlooked on mainstream fashion blogs. But I enjoy the fashion choices of many celebrities (Lauren Conrad and Rachel Bilson to name a few) so to include them here on the ‘Bomb would be great. If it’s hot and worth talking about- post it!
April 27, 2011 7:57 pm
I think lauren Conrad looks better than Jessica.
I agree with previously stated comments in that diversity is ok, but I come here specifically for the different spin you offer. I can see the ‘others’ on other websites
