Artyse wrote in, saying, “I’m wondering what I should wear to go to an amusment park…no water! It is my boyfriends birthday and he wants to go ride some roller coasters. We don’t go out often or should I say at all but I do want to look very nice…and of course no heels but I want to look chic without looking like I tried too hard. I would love some ideas. I have about 2 weeks till the event but just would love some ideas.”

As we said in our post titled, Style Inspiration: What to Wear to an Amusement or Theme Park, “When dressing for an amusement park, it’s better to focus on what not to wear. Don’t rock a skirt unless you want to flash the crowds below on the roller coaster. Don’t wear heels or uncomfortable shoes–those lines are brutal!! Lastly, don’t wear jeans or anything too hot. Comfort is key, so do wear a t-shirt, tank, or polo with capris or shorts. If you’re not a sneaker girl, go for stylish options.” Though Beyonce’s Balmain tank and cargo pants are spot on for the occasion, we wouldn’t recommend her Sam Edelman Vancouver booties or anything at all with a heel!
Cute hat, though.
Instead of proposing exact outfits you can wear, take inspiration from the amusement park perfect outfits below, then go shopping for a look of your own that reflects your tastes and personality!

I can’t believe people have to write in for advice on what to wear to an amusement park? Seriously??
thin jean capris, khaki capris
shorts/knits
tshirt that can take sweat/water and some multiple layers
hat/shades/ hairdo that can stand water/wind/sun
is common sense not so common any more?

i kind of a agree with name goes here. when your outside walking all day in hot weather you just have to wear whats practical. probably a t-shirt or a tank and some shorts. probably some kind of flat shoes like sneakers or sandals. i think ciara’s outfit is the best, casual, stylish, and it looks like it will keep her cool.

lol at Names goes here. Even though I love Beyonce’s outfit I wouldn’t wear that to an amusement part. But I love Kim K’s outfit here because it is simple, comfortable, colorful and cute

Claire: Thank you for responding to the question and writing this post.
The lady who asked obviously didn’t want to look “regular” at the amusement park, so she wanted some fashionable ideas. And everyone (sans beyonce’s wearing the heels) looks good and ready to ride some rides while looking cute. There is NOTHING wrong with asking for help on what to where, WHATEVER or WHEREVER the occasion is.
And if you don’t care, don’t click on the post. Good day.

I like all of the options provided with the exception of Beyonce’s outfit. Although Bey is my girl I feel she tries way to hard. Black, suede booties to an amusement park???? Really. Okay. Her feet must be frigging hot. SMDH. LOL. But you know what, if this works for her I aint’ mad.
@Artyse, I feel you girl because you want to look good for your man. A few other options can be a printed romper or billowy shorts (sorry for the description) an off the shoulder t or a tank. Stay clear from light colored bottoms (white, beige, light blue) because it is an amusement park. I suggest you don’t thong sandals because it might become irritating (rubbing between your toes) with all of the walking and standing. Get a cute, small cross body bag for the basics. Cute, inexpensive shades cause you might lose them. Stud earrings or none at all because you will be on rides. Have a great time and eat a funnel cake for me.

@Shelly spelled it out perfectly!
Great post, everyone could use a tip or two on how to rock something cute and stylish out and about on many of our more “regular” days. Style isn’t just out at the club or a red carpet premiere! I love Kim K’s, Rihanna’s and Nicole’s outfits! Perfect examples of stepping it up a bit, and still looking a propos for the event at hand!

@Name Goes Here: How about let’s NOT wear capris! LOL case and POINT!

Hi Claire!
Do you have any insight into Amber Rose’s tan sandals or a similar look?
