Sick!!! I think that she is a very pretty girl and the pieces look great on her as well.
April 5, 2011 9:28 am
She looks the same in most of the pictures, nice but the same. Still waiting for her album to drop, another person who’s famous for being famous.
April 5, 2011 9:28 am
The last look is my favorite.
April 5, 2011 10:06 am
I’m surprised they didn’t switch up her hairstyle but she stills look fierce in these pieces, love it!
April 5, 2011 10:09 am

I absolutely love these looks! I saw them last night on another website (that gave buying information) and I added a few of the pieces to my “must purchase” list.
This is a good look for Teyana!

And what is tribal about this? she wears “African” print and a headband and now she’s tribal? Americans, please! stop ignorantly misusing that word. Thanks!
April 5, 2011 12:55 pm
@lola what adjective should we ‘ignorant’ Americans use?
The clothes showcased have tribal in their descriptions…
I really want to know, not trying to be snappy.
April 5, 2011 4:48 pm
I love everything in this spread. Everything. Reblogged to my tumblr. Oh yes. I would rock everything. Love her face and hair as well.
@J tell us how you really feel then 0_o

April 5, 2011 4:55 pm
I love these looks. Esp for the summer! She’s a cute young lady!

Claire
Colorful? fierce? I don’t know. There’s nothing “tribal” about these looks. They were made by European and American companies based on their interpretation of what African clothing is; these clothes are not manufactured by people from a tribe nor are they representative of any tribe in the world. If anything, I would described it as “African-inspired” but tribal? no!
April 5, 2011 5:37 pm
Teyana Taylor really looks phenomenal! Also, some of her jewelry pieces were by Alexis Bittar. The purple and gold zebra print jumpsuit (Paris Dakar jumpsuit) is by Adama Paris.
Love these looks!

im a latina beutiful woman. This girl is way way overated and she is very average looking compared to other black beutiful women i know and see. She is far from stunning. Infact she is ugly.
By the way this doesnt look anything tribally african at all.
April 5, 2011 7:10 pm
i’d have to agree with lola. most of the “tribal” trend appears to be a culturally appropriated version of what american and european companies think african prints look like. the word tribal has never really sat right with me either and “african inspired” could be a more respectful term to use. and lola, not ALL americans are ignorant.

…………….. Well…. despite the harsh criticism, I thought the shoot was pretty dope. Good job, Teyana.
April 5, 2011 10:39 pm
I updated to include credits. xx
April 5, 2011 10:57 pm
PS from now on I’ll say African inspired instead of tribal, thx for the info guys!
April 6, 2011 1:11 am
Tribal is not just an African word it just means the clothes were inspired by a group of indeginous people. Looks tribal to me.
April 6, 2011 1:27 am
She has a great body and love the final outfit but some of these comments…le sighs
April 6, 2011 6:28 am
she looks amazing. i love the second photo and the third outfit. FIERCE!
April 6, 2011 8:55 am
i really wish people would stop getting in a tizzy over trivial things! Tribal inspired is not just African. Any group of indigenous people from North America, South America, all the way to Australia can be a tribe so this shoot is tribal inspired!!! Look at some of the other pieces Claire posted and you will see they all aren’t African inspired. Gosh get over yourself. Anyway back to the post Teyanna looks great!
April 6, 2011 10:54 am
Thanks for the info Claire!
April 6, 2011 10:55 am
I see H&M is the place a lot of these pieces…. sweet!
April 6, 2011 12:52 pm
I think Teyana is a bad biatch! She looks hot in her “tribal inspired” or whatever outfits. Why all the venom on this post!? lol
April 6, 2011 12:53 pm
it’s crazy how some of these tribal pieces are so freaking expensive, when if you really wanted some african/tribal inspired you could get something custom made for less than 100 dollars. baffles my mind.
April 6, 2011 4:59 pm
@J I’d be willing to bet that she could spell though. If “be(a)utiful” is all you have to offer…good luck.
April 6, 2011 9:02 pm
I am so in love with the clothes. They are beautiful and so my style. What does Teyana Taylor do actually?
April 7, 2011 12:57 am
When I first saw T on “My Super Sweet Sixteen” I thought there was something funny about her face, off a lil but since shes been doin photo shoots shes been looks PHENOMENAL! And I would KILL for her hair!
April 8, 2011 2:15 am
I LOVE THIS!!! I need every piece in my wardrobe, especially the safari cut-out dress from Ragdolls….it’s just incredible.
April 27, 2011 4:18 pm
But when most refer to “tribal” ,they think “AFRICA” which is weird seeing as Africa has thousands of tribes and none of them dress like that.Tired of stylists throwing on some cheetah/leopard print and some beads and feathers then saying “African Inspired”.But its been going on forever since even before Josephine Baker wore the banana skirt .And dont even get me started on the safari themed shoots where the models wear khacki and go pose with lions “Out of Africa” .
