Jessica from ATL wrote in, saying, “I am building my styling portfolio, and a friend from college is allowing me to be her wardrobe stylist on her shoot for her Spring line. This will be my first actual shoot so I was wondering if you could offer any pointers on what needs to go into my wardrobe stylist kit, and if you had any pointers on what I should do. This is something that I sincerely want to pursue. Any tips you could offer would be greatly appreciated. “
I took the question to Twitter, and tons of people including creative consultant for Nicki Minaj’s styling team Joel Dash (pictured below) were kind enough to answer.

He said, “Pins, safety pins, needle and thread (black and white especially), scissors, spare buttons, several extra looks (options), see through sellotape…and aspirin. You’ll always need aspirin as you’ll have a headache after 20 minutes!” Other twitter buddies including Lauren Messiah of www.laurenmessiah.com added, “Prop bag, gaffers tape, safety pins, black safety pins, handi-wipes, Sharpies, scissors, top stick, lint roller, tagger gun, seam ripper, sewing kit, hang tags, clips, and masking tape.” AMajORevolution said, “Tide-to-go” pen, pasties, and DRY Bounty paper towels (for deodorant marks).”

Hope that was helpful, Jessica. And if any of you have anything to add, please do.
Good luck!
