The Cour Carrée of the Musée du Louvre was turned into an old fashined hotel for Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 show, and models were, fittingly, at your service. Sultry minxes outfitted in bellhop hats and modern day maid’s outfits sauntered down the runway, some even smoking cigarettes for dramatic effect.
Designer Marc Jacobs told journalists after the show, “We were thinking about obsession, fetishism, and we thought about an old hotel, with its chambermaids and the affairs that go on there, the crimes and scandals. And we just wanted to reveal all the amazing creatures who passed through there.” Sticking to classic black and white, with flourishes of red, yellow, forest green and navy blue, Jacobs did just that.
While the clothes and silhouettes have of course been done before, the collection excelled in the accessories department.
Take a look at a few standouts:
Can’t you already see these on the hands and heels of LV fans Angela Simmons and Rihanna?
