Model, journalist, and activist Gail O’Neill is another great example that beauty and brains do exist in this industry. The Wesleyan graduate has appeared on numerous fashion covers on glossies such as Vogue, ELLE, and Mademoiselle.
O’Neill was a prominent model during her time and booked numerous high fashion gigs as well as commercial contracts such as J. Crew, Nordstrom, and Liz Claiborne. The outspoken model was also known to refuse to appear in ads for cigarette companies or for corporate sponsors that did not divest of South African investments. She was also an activist for the homeless.
Today Gail still models and was recently shot in the above CK One ad in 2009.
