So I’m finally recovered from my birthday festivities. Thanks to all of you for your lovely comments and well wishes…I was smiling like a Cheshire cat all day:) At any rate it’s back to work for me and preparing for Fashion Week. Oh yes, and Mail Bombs!

The jeans are a cotton/lycra blend, so should be perfect for your curvy frame. I’ve personally ordered J Brand jeans before, and generally have to go up at least one size from what I normally wear. With that in mind, get a pair below:

“… I was wondering if you knew what makeup counters offer customized makeup? “
Danielle says, “Pretty sure I did a post over the summer called “Foundation for Very Deep, Dark Skin.” Prescriptives is the only consumer company I know that does custom mixing, but they’re currently only sold online for now.”

Lastly, Max says, “Since you guys are so good at giving us the inside scoop on everything fashion and beauty, I’m wondering if you can help me with a question. I love Kelly Rowland’s lipstick in the Wildfox Love Potion photo shoot….”
“…You guys already schooled us on her sweater, any chance you can tell me what lipstick she’s wearing?”
Danielle says, “I don’t know the exact lip color Kelly is wearing in that shoot, but you can get a similar look with either MAC A Quiet Roar Lipglass, MAC C-Thru Lipglass or MAC Spite Lipglass.”

Sooo I’m pretty sure you did a post over the summer called “Foundation for Very Deep, Dark Skin.” Unfortunately, I took those suggestions (besides all the NW55 MAC products which I already use or have used) and tried the others: smashbox, make up for ever, etc. However, these companies and their 3 shades of brown were insufficient which is why I asked about custom foundations. Your summer post said Have foundation questions? contact me. How do you write beauty advice for black women but you appear to get sick of discussing beauty products for black women?

@Me I can never get “sick of discussing beauty products for black women”…lol. Claire forwarded your email to me and then copied my response to her word for word. Your email didn’t mention that you saw the post, so that’s why I mentioned it again because it contains all the brands I know of that have very deep foundation colors. As for custom blends, like Claire posted in this post from my response to her, the only consumer brand I know of is Prescriptives.

@Cici you’re good—I didn’t even notice Kelly had on nail polish in that shoot…LOL. My old eyes can’t tell if it’s a blue or green, but try colors like Ginger + Liz New Money or OPI Orge the Top Blue for similar looks.
