Cool brand Mataano recently sent over images from their Spring/Summer 2011 lookbook, and I instantly fell in love:
Created by Somalian twins Ayan and Idyll Mohallim, the line launched in 2008, and is geared toward an elegantly stylish multicultural woman.
Mataano, which means twins in Somali, represents the harmony and dissonance that sometimes characterizes relationships between identical twins. While one twin may be serious, the other may be silly; but once they come together, there is always an undeniable and unbreakable harmony. Fittingly, Mataano’s Spring/Summer 2011 mixes flowing harem pants with close fit tanks, flouncy ruffled minis with belted blazers, and watercolor pencil skirts with draped sheer tops.

The twins are actually quite well known. Oprah identified the two as future millionaire moguls, they’ve been featured on CNN, and showed at this past Africa Fashion Week.
See more of Mataano’s lookbook here and see past collections at www.mataano.com. Also, check out these videos to see the girls talk more about their background and inspirations:
