It was a pretty quiet weekend for celebs. I guess they figured they’d give me my shine since I celebrated my birthday (which was yesterday) ALL weekend (pics posted soon)! Either that, or they attended those secret weddings and hid from the paparazzi. Nonetheless, we found a few celebs out and about. Some looked hot while some should’ve stayed home.
First up, Mel B. at the NBC Universal Press Tour…
Mel B. wore a black bodycon dress with yellow platforms. She looks cute, but I’m sure we can all agree when I say it seems something’s missing. Maybe a necklace with her hair pulled back would’ve sealed the deal for me. Lukewarm at best. Hot shoes though.
Next is up and coming R&B crooner, Shontelle…
She hit up Fuse TV to talk about her next single while wearing a navy sequined frock and gray platform pumps. Hot! And I love the subtle pop of orange in the ring.
Celebutante Kim Kardashian was spotted at the Super Saturday 13 event to benefit Ovarian Cancer…
…and looking hot for a good cause never hurt anyone. Love the nude shades in the top and belt. And the apricot colored bubble skirt is the go to summer skirt. While I’m not sold on the leopard print peep-toe Louboutin’s dotting the i on this outfit, it’s a very cute outfit nonetheless.
Adrienne Bailon attended the same event this weekend…
Looking fresh faced and so cute in her gray, purple and white minidress. Miss Bailon rarely misses, and this outfit is solid proof. Gray YSL Trib Too pumps complete the look.
Shaquille O’Neal hit up a Disney event over the weekend…
*Deep sigh*. Well, looking at the glass as “half full”, I like the color of his suit. The vest, however, is just as unnecessary as that bowtie. And yes, he’s a very tall man, which means there’s extreme difficulty in him finding suits that fit his build correctly. But that’s what tailors are for. The jacket is too long and shapeless. I’ll keep my fingers crossed in hopes we see something better from the basketball star soon.
And last but not least, Mrs. Jada Pinkett Smith headed to a Jimmy Kimmel Live taping…
Jada, Jada, Jada. Can you do any wrong? Jada looks absolutely stunning in this one-shoulder white dress with sort of an origami pleating at the shoulder. One thing I adore about her style is the fact that she knows when a dress can speak for itself, keeping everything else subtle. And those shoes are to D-I-E for! Hot!

Danielle here with a little peek into my NYC life.
This weekend me and the homey Lipstick Fashion headed down to the Pieces 10th Anniversary Celebration at Kai Studio in Brooklyn. If you’ve been reading The Fashion Bomb for a while, you’ll know that Pieces is Claire’s favorite place to shop in the States. And if you’ve ever stepped foot into this delightfully fab boutique, you’ll know exactly why.
I remember going to Pieces and every time I went I felt like a superstar because the owner Latisha Daring (pictured above at left) was so attentive. Not that fake kind of attentive when the shop owner thinks you might be giving yourself a 5-finger discount or one who tells you to “Hurry up and buy!” but a super genuine attentiveness that felt like one of your best girlfriends was shopping right along with you. It’s no wonder why in a world where many businesses close within a year of opening that Pieces has been so successful. Having cool clothes can only get you so far—a winning spirit like Daring’s gets you longevity.
For you aspiring boutique owners, Latisha gives this advice: “Be passionate about what you do and find your niche. You always have to reinvent yourself to keep fresh especially when competitors move in nearby“. Truer words have never been spoken.
So once inside these gorgeous models (above) were posing and posing and posing while wearing items from Pieces’ new in-house label set to debut this fall. Can’t wait to see those.
And of course I had to check out the fashionable folks inside. I actually saw this young lady’s hot dress while waiting to get in but figured I’d at least wait until we were settled inside before I approached her…lol.
I absolutely love both the shape and color of her dress. You can’t see it very well in the pic, but her hair also looked like she just stepped out of a stylist’s chair. Miss honey was working everything! Too cute.
Then I happened upon this crew of friends each with their own individual style. Love it!
I couldn’t get enough of these ladies’ dresses and shoes. Niiice.
These two ladies were barely inside for 30 seconds before I tapped them on the shoulder for a pic…lol. Love their accessories.
And finally I loved this girl’s hair and cute one shoulder dress so much!
