Gorgeous model Ubah Hassan was spotted recently at the opening of the new Target in Harlem, NY. The Somalian native served face, hair, skin, EVERYTHING. I’m in awe of how simple yet extremely stunning she looks.
If you agree, read on for how to get her look.
Face/Makeup:
1. Ubah’s biggest accessory is her smooth, glowy skin. While it’s not guaranteed everyone will have the same flawless skin, you can get somewhere near it by gently exfoliating your face to remove dead skin build-up to reveal a smoother complexion. Try Boscia Smoothing Facial Polish or LUSH Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser.
If you have larger pores, give your skin a final rinse with cold water to slightly shrink their appearance.
For extra skin vibrancy credit, use a treatment like Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer twice a day or as needed. After time you should notice a slight difference in your skin’s clarity.
Top it all off with a moisturizer geered to your skin type. But if uneven tone has got you down, try Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer—formulated for all skin types.
Also, for any makeup look, but especially a look where great skin is the focus, be sure to properly groom your brows and remove any excess facial hair. Check out How to Shape and Care for Brows for more info.
2. Apply a light liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer to the face. Try Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Makeup, Becca Luminous Skin Colour, or Face Atelier Ultra Foundation. Be sure to apply thoroughly making sure to blend into the hair line and by the ears to avoid “foundation mask”. Set with a loose powder like Becca Fine Loose Finishing Powder (one of few loose powders that provide full coverage but give a “your skin but better” natural finish).
3. For the eyes, simply line the eyes with a black eyeliner pencil like Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Liner in Mat Black 0L (it’s waterproof so expect it to stay pretty put all day) and apply two coats of mascara. For cheeks, swipe NARS Blush in Exhibit A (ok, it only looks scary in the pan, but try it because it looks gorgeous on all shades of brown skin and especially darker skin tones). For the lips, a touch of a shimmery nude lipstick finishes the look. Try Dior Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Model Brown 714.
Hair:
1. A sleek look like this looks best on freshly blunt cut, cleansed, and deep conditioned hair. For a super-moisturizing and nice-smelling treat, try Moroccanoil Moisture Replenish Shampoo and Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask (formulated to deep condition without heat in only 7 minutes). Blot dry carefully and apply Moroccanoil Oil Treatment to strands to add shine and speed up drying time. Roller set hair or dry as desired (try a wet wrap and air dry if you have the time for a healthier alternative).
2. Once hair is dry, section it out into smaller workable portions to make flat ironing easier and also help avoid going over the same section which can be more damaging on the hair. To protect hair from heat styling, spritz each section with a heat protector like Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. Give hair a light hold and some added shine with Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray or for just added shine, try Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray.
To keep the hair healthy, try a style like this only every once in a while. Even ceramic flat irons can damage the hair cuticle and some hair sprays can be drying on already dry hair. Or for the sleek look without worrying about damaging your real hair, a little weave and wigs never hurt anybody. OK—so with improper use they can hurt, but you know what I’m saying!

I first heard of Morocconoil when I was in an outdoor fashion show in really humid weather. The hair stylist put the oil on my hair and I went from frizz ball to silky satin, this stuff is the real deal!!!

Wow, she is STUNNING. There’s something about Somalian women. Iman, Ubah, Ayan Elmi, Fatima Siad, Yasmin Warsame, Hawa Ahmed, Waris Dirie, and Rahma Mohamed are just some Somalian models that exemplify Somalian and African beauty. No wonder black women are so hot, their ancestors from Africa are gorgeous.

FOR GOD’S SAKE, CUSHITES ARE NOT BLACK/NEGROID. They are their own racial group, but closer to Caucasian.

@rocks
go somewhere with all that. Kushites (with a k) were Black/Negroid. i know it must be hard for academic racists such as yourself to accept the fact that Blacks created the civilization known as Kush, but it’s the truth. regardless of what “theories” you may have (such as the theory that caucasians migrated to that area), the reality of the situation is that the people of AFRICA (including Kush) were AFRICAN.
you probably think Nefertiti and the rest of the Ancient Egyptians weren’t Black either, right?
