Actress and object of my everlasting affection Kerry Washington was spotted at the premiere of her latest film Mother And Child at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The beauty rocked a pretty lilac and pink look and if you’re so inclined (and you should be because this purple look looks great on every skin tone), I’ve got some tips on how to get it. You ready? Let’s go!
1. I may sound like a broken record, but I can’t stress enough how important great skin is to great makeup looks. Start by cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your skin according to your skin type.
2. Apply a stick foundation like Becca Stick Foundation only where you need it. Carefully blend it into the skin with either a makeup wedge or a foundation brush (like MAC 190). Becca Stick Foundation is great because it provided medium to full coverage without looking overdone. You can also use it as a concealer. Set your makeup with loose powder like Becca Fine Loose Finishing Powder using a fluffy brush like MAC 187 (this brush’s bristles make for great light application of anything from powder to blush to bronzer and even liquid foundation).
3. Prep your eyes for eyeshadow by applying a primer like Urban Decay Primer Potion all over the lid up to the brow bone. Eyeshadow primers help to smooth out the lids and helps your shadow stay on longer without creasing. Apply an eyeshadow about 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone to the brow bone area using a blending brush like MAC 224.
Then using a dense blending brush like MAC 217, apply a medium-toned purple (like MAC Eyeshadow in Satellite Dreams) to the bottom lid. Blend carefully. For more definition, apply a deep purple (try MAC Eyeshadow in Shadowy Lady) using the dense blending brush (MAC 217) to the outer V. Blend where the two colors meet with the lighter blending brush (MAC 224). Next take a pencil brush (like MAC 219) and and apply the lighter purple shade underneath the bottom waterline from the inner corners of the eye until about mid-way to the eye. At the other end (from where the light purple ended to the outer corners of the eye) apply the darker purple shade using the pencil brush. Line your eyes with a black eyeliner pencil (try Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Mat Black–it’s waterproof and will last all day even on the waterline).
Carefully clean up any fall-out with a Q-Tip dipped in eye makeup remover. Apply 2-3 coats of mascara on both the top and bottom lashes.
4. To get Kerry’s glowy cheeks, apply a rosy blush like NARS Blush in Taos using an angled blush brush like MAC 168.
5. Finish the look with a plum-pink with pink shimmer lipstick like MAC Lipstick in Sequin. If pink isn’t your thing, go for a nude lip. Add a few spritzes of MAC Fix+ Spray.

Surely everyone is getting on board with the tribal trend, and Rashia does a good job of incorporating such a bold print with basic colors. Hot!
If you’ve been watching VH1′s Basketball Wives, you’d know who Royce is. She went shopping with Jennifer on last night’s episode and she’s not the most fashion forward. 
And this ensemble is testament to that. The dress has some definite potential, but those shoes? Hmm…they should be burnt at the stake.

I love incorporating a boyfriend blazer into my daily routine, and there’s nothing more chic than a tailored jacket, skinny jean, and heels. Not too sure how I feel, however, about the full on three piece suit.
